Blimey that brings back some memories. Mark Hughes was still playing. Ian Wright top of his game. A very youthful Ryan Giggs.

Personally I've never found watching Usain Bolt very impressive. It's all just down to his pace!

Only Giggs still playing from that era........

The bloke second from right is wearing a Real Madrid scarf. That's remarkably brave/ foolish of him, given the company he's with :D

I do wonder how much of the fact that his nationality rules him unlikely to have to participate in major tournaments played into the value of his sale. Presumably, not being subject to those potential injuries throughout Euro and World Cup campaigns increases his value?

    Silva This went well.

But less from merchandise sales. Although at this point, I'm not sure if int. competitions are enough of a factor. It's not like it's hard to watch a game from a major european league anywhere in the world instead of waiting for the late sunday highlight shows and international competitions like it used to be.

It's a cracking goal, but the Barcelona defender (Bartra?) took terrible angles. Although it was probably hard enough just to keep himself on the play instead of watching him go after going out of bounds.

Le Tissier's first touch was amazing - and the last 2 touches in his goal were repeated in Gazza's wondergoal against Scotland 2 years later.

Not bad, but as always there's a similar 90s Leeds goal that tops it:

Nah. There's a bounce in there which makes it easier to control. Not as stylish.

I don't think he actually needs to have watched a goal from 17 years ago to score one similar, and I'm pretty sure fascist DiCanio didn't invent that move either.
