Bangkok protests at airport

Dunno who the countryside alliance is...

Ignorance is bliss!

Nah, I was being silly. They're a pressure group that led a big a campaign in support of fox hunting.

Thanks for the background. My girlfriend has a projected return date of 10 December. She was supposed to come back on 27 November! Her sister was on BBC News today laying into their travel agent for being so unhelpful.

Forget it mate. That's optimistic according to the frame of mind i'm in at the moment. I've been expecting quite a few mates to arrive from the 12th onwards, but can't see it happening. The only possible light is that it is the king's birthday on friday, and since everyone professes to love the king...

It's all fucked up, and even though the country is seriously going bankrupt, these selfish out-of-control egos cooped up on the airport are saying no to any kind of compromise. They have decided they know what's right for the country...

Cos their travel agent has the inside info on exactly what's gonna happen, but are keeping it to themselves. The beastly cads

Indeed.

Hence the concept that - despicable as Thaksin may have been - democracy, and more of it, is the worst possible system of government, except for.........

Woof

I dunno why people are so stuck, just get the train to Malaysia and fly out from KL.

Its an over night and into the day journey but its not unpleasant and you get to see Malaysia. Surely thats got to be better than looking at an airport.

There is so much more going on there, its not like the police couldn't just kick them out and normality returns.

Yup, operating from Thrusday midnight. Apparently the propesters ahve looked after the airport pretty well and all will need is a clean up

No... because they were shit and unhelpful in dealing with their extremely expensive telephone enquiries while their spokespeople were appearing on the news spouting some rubbish about how they were desperately trying to get hold of their customers to offer them all sorts of help. They've now caved in on some disagreements about insurance and things. I do hope that's alright with you.

Hopefully the airports will be staying open for a while but I'm definitely going to be wary of booking any flights to or via Bangkok now that the PAD have discovered occupying the airports is a fast way of getting whatever they want.
