Bangface : Snares Hellfish EllisDee Spectre AGCG PCM Shinra : 13 Oct

I'm a bit perplexed.

I asked permission but was refused to post my small event which works on a non-profit, non-commercial basis and is a community-based event (at the local community centre). I admit, we couldn't afford to give discounts to U75 members and I've never posted here before (I've just discoverd this board), but is it one rule for Bangface and another rule for the rest of us?

Not having a dig at Bangface BTW!

Anyway, here's a link definately worth checking:

Yes it's not consistent really. This is a not for profit board so you have to accept the odd inconsistencies tho. Well good luck with that.

What the *fuck* is wrong with being a moron anyway?
I'm getting the feeling that the chakras are out of alignment with some.

People are forgetting what a transcendant, spiritual event a rave should be. May I suggest a night at

I went to one of their parties - took a load of mushrooms and saw a 'presentation' about how spermicidically treated condoms were a bad thing because they are apparently very bad for ladybits. The psytrance was quite good as well . . .

*shrugs*

Their website is exhorting me to "ADD TO THE NEO-RAVE HYSTERIA BY DRESSING UP IN THE STYLE OF EACH RAVE THEME AND BRING MASKS AND RAVE TOYS".

I think I'm getting it, I'm just not buying it! I'd have expected this type of cringe to get a drubbing on here, but I'm wrong, peeps seem to think it's great. Fair enough!

Yeah, as suspected, you don't get it.

Meh. I dunno. I mean glowsticks and signs and all that bollocks is one thing, but those FUCKING horns do my head in. And there's only so many times I can get hit on the head by some knobber with an inflatable hammer before it stops being funny. I mean, the music is fucking good, the venue is brilliant, but horns and hammers are shit. Maybe I'm a grumpy fucker...

Oh and set lists would have been good, we missed half of aaron spectre's set cos we were downstairs :( Still, good to see him and hellfish and venetian snares 8)

Loki - you're only allowed to sneer at it if you've been. Otherwise, you're a great big silly.

Yes, contempt before examination as some might say :) And at the end of the day, these people were prolly having far more fun that me that night, however cringeworthy it looks to me.

So is it just pretending to be ironic do you think?

Well no. It's a laugh, but it's genuine about what it does IMO. The people there are just having a good time, not giving it the whole 'aren't we all clever and cool and ironic' thing. Mostly anyway.

Too right - I didn't even realise the downstairs room was open until a mate came and grabbed me to say that snares was playing down there. But by this point I'd missed half the set which was a bit gutting.

Had a good night but I think I'll leave bangface alone now. The horns, glowsticks and signs etc were all fun to begin with but it's all getting a wee bit tiresome now. (Or maybe it's just that I've stopped taking drugs!)
