Bands that are just sort of...there

Ladies and getlemen they are so bland that even this thread forgets they excist, i give you the one the (thankfully) only SNOW PATROL!!!

Ocean Colour Scene were on tour recently.

I learnt guitar to the first Bluetones record. i love that guitar sound Adam Devlin has, its very Johnny Marr.

The Coral have some good records too, though I dont love them...

My Dads girlfriends son (not as distant as it sounds), just released a DVD of Ned's getting back together and releasing new material.

Popularity, we know, is no measure of quality.

didn't the stuffies reform? I like/d them.
used to really piss off my granddad by singing to Are You Happy now (the one about somebody accidentally killing someone in a pub fight) in the car
I swear he once asked me how come you don't like happy songs - why would anyone like something's that angry and misirible :D

edit/ *has flashbacks to Welcome To The Cheap Seats*

Feeder - they were alright for a bit before Buck Rodgers, some of more recent songs were ok but mostly meh.
some of the post member suicide songs that were suposed to be gently hopeful for the future were more (to me anyway) reachingfortherazorblades type mood inducing (metaphorically)

The difficult 3rd album was a success too - 'Little Discourage', 'These Wooden Ideas' are two of my favourite Idlewild songs. They did lose it a little bit after that but still have a respectable pedigree in my eyes.

The Wonderstuff
My sole recollection is of gritting my teeth in student discos as that song (I can't remember a title, the words or anything, only a revisited feeling of intense bitterness) played itself out.

Ah yes. I've looked it up. 'The Size Of A Cow'. What a lovely song (he says, digging his nails into his palms). I remember quite liking 'Give Give Give Me More More More' when it came out, but then our relationship all went very, very sour.

blimey despite that being played nearly every fucking day at one point on virgin radio I'd managed to repress size of a cow

I think there's possibly two things going on here. Bands which should have known when to stop; bluetones, travis, u2 and according to some people the cooper temple clause  ;)
Also bands which are just shit; snow patrol.

there are still feeder fans out there. i've got a lot of EARLY feeder stuff that i'm currently selling on ebay and it's all being bought

Elbow. been going years, have had success yet nobody really cares *that* much about them

guy garvey owns my adopted local (its not my local in terms to geography but in terms of the bar i go to the most), he was glass collecting on friday night and nobody batted an eyelid.

I love Elbow - the second album especially Fugitive Hotel, Grace Under Pressure, and the written later & added to the album afterwards title track of Asleep in the back are devestatingly beautiful.
