Absolutely.

I live for the weekend when I get into the rehearsal studio/go out gigging and get to play. I used to get incredibly nervous playing live. Nowadays though I use that adrenalin to my advantage, let it flow through you. The best way to get confidence though is to just get out there and do it. But I think you should feel comfortable with the music you are playing before you do. There is no worse combination of nerves and being unsure of the material.

My Dad was an oil painter in his spare time. He once said to me, after having gone bankrupt and losing everything and being single a long time etc, that he didnt know what he would have done if he hadn't had painting in his life. I feel the same way about music. When all else has failed, its always been there.
