Balloons and cats

She's been back a couple of days. She's been practically immobile for most of the time - I wish I had a digital camera, actually, to show you her wrapped in blankets and surrounded by hot-water-bottles, wearing one of those stupid bonnets. But she's perked up a bit today and is sitting in the sun (though not for long as it's back to the vet in fifteen minutes). We've been feeding her through a syringe, both pureed food and water, and keeping her relaxed by playing her Bach (violin concertos and sonatas).

Apparently Sunday and Monday will be the crucial time, when she regains enough energy to run around a bit. The crucial thing is that her stictches shouldn't burst when she runs and jumps. If they do, that's curtains.

Blimey, sounds much worse than I thought at first...poor lil thing. I'm sure you'll make sure she doesn't go bananas Sun/Mon

Provided she can tolerate me singing Gershwin to her:

The pussycat is a kitty
The pussycat is a kit
Oh, the pussykit
The kit is It
She's certainly a pussykit

Theaw'rt one o' God's creatures - come in here, come in;
Poor Pussy! Theau art hungry lookin' an' thin.
Eawr John's just bin tellin' me heaw tha's been used;
It's shawmful is th' way 'at he's seen thee abused.
Poor thing! an' tha'rt nobbut a kittlin' aw see;
An' yet th' nowty lads couldn't let thee a-be;
But tha's met wi' a friend at'll keep thee fro' harm,
So ceawer thee deawn here wheer it's cosy an' warm.

Good lucks to our kittlin Itchy ;)

Damn you! Damn you to hell!

Alright, alright. What gratitude though. Pff.

Interestingly though the quoted poet Samuel Laycock appears to be a well remembered librarian, with a plaque to his name not so far from where I grew up.

Hope Itchy's well.

Our cats must have at least twenty lives between them, so we're sending one to Ichy. Hope she gets better soon. :)

Glad to hear that she's back home! Short post, have purring cat in lap demanding attention, hope yours is back on form and purring in laps soon DF :)

Here's to a continued recovery.

And don't be surprised if she hides in strange places whilst she's feeling poorly. Though I'm sure you know this already.

She's eating from a spoon when I offer it to her. She can't be back to full health, though, because there's a pill been smashed and sprinkled in her food and normally she'd smell it and refuse to eat.

Good to hear she's on the mend though eh Donna? Perhaps it's the type of drug that makes her not reject it? Some now are designed not to be detected by cats.

Yeh, riiiight!

Stitches come out tomorrow morning. She's been sneezing a bit today, which I'm a bit worried about.
Oh give over worrying, she sounds fine. Was the blanket a bit fluffy or something? Might just be a reaction to the drugs as well

On a sick pussy note, I had to take one of mine to the vets again yesterday - her urinary tract problem is back :(

She suffered a lot from it but on advice from the vet, I put her on wet food only, and it really worked, for over 6 months. But it's back now. She's back on Synolux, had the anti-inflammatory jab, so fingers crossed this'll work.

I'm gonna have her spayed after xmas, the thinking being that the less stress she has, the less 'triggers' there are for her poor wee tube to react to

Good news, surely. Including the vets bill. Dr Jones set us back 750 quids when he had his little contre temps with a car...

Of course he's worth every penny.

Glad to hear she's on the mend though.
