Don't care about the iTunes thing, kinda interested in the anthology series idea but the game is the big excitment here!

Next, there are rumors, from game news portal Boomtown that Straczynski has also dropped hints that there may soon be a "Babylon 5" online game.

Straczynski "said he could not talk about it now, but that in two weeks expect something big to be announced," Boomtown 's Harry Neary wrote, quoting an unnamed source at Comic Com in San Diego. "He hinted that if you ever wanted to live in the B5 universe, you might get your chance. Now, either that's a super holobrothel or a MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game). I'm hoping for the former."

Finally, it appears that there will also be some new "Babylon 5" TV content. According to Ain't it Cool News, at Comic Con, Straczynski also unveiled plans to create a series of new, straight-to-DVD episodes tracking the pasts of the show's main characters.

I'm only shelling out the money if you can play as a Pak'ma'ra.

oooooooh

online B5 game

there goes what remians of my free time

Yep, Ultima failed, Everquest tried too, even the mighty WoW failed to lure me in and destroy my life but this? B5 is my Kryptonite; an online game set in the universe (especially if there is ship vs. ship combat) will lose me my free time, job and probably GF! :D

Oh my! Not worried about the game but more episodes  I thought it was a top show. Gotta love the rivalry between Londo and G'Kar hehehe!

Of course, how could they bring back Delenn now she is stranded on a desert island is anyone's guess  ;) :p

And isn't the doctor (Stephen?) dead now, or is that in my imagination?

Anyone know where I can get all the series on dvd for pennies????

No idea about where to get em cheap, bought mine on DVD over a period of about 8 months for about £30 each…

Hang on, can someone bring me up to date with B5 happenings?

I've got everything up to Crusade...I saw that there was another series about the Rangers...but what's this about Andreas Katsulas? And the bloke who played Franklin!? Dead? What? Eh? De'Lenn stranded on an Island?

What have I missed, and how much strain will it put on my finances catching up?

e2a...ah, OK, just got the De'Lenn thing with Mira Furlan in Lost...OK, I'm a halfwit...

Incidentally...I never read fan fiction, but did anyone ever publish an 'end' to Crusade? It was just getting interesting when they puilled it...

One story I'd deffo go for would be the Psi-war, and what happened to Lyta...

Continuity wise it's out of kilter with 'A Call to Arms' on the origins of the Drah'k plague, and it starts off a bit weak but there are some interesting elements to it, plus it has Tracy Scoggins which is always a winner in my book.

Put it this way - the bits where it tries to be Star Trek it's a bit pants. The bits where it's proper Bab 5 are ace.

Ok, at the risk of revealing the depths of my fanboyness regarding B5, here goes:

Crusade never had an ending, what was in the series was it. They managed to get another made for tv fim out, Legend of the Ranger, which if successfull would have been the springboard for Crusades storyline (amongst other things) continuing. Not sure what happened there, never seen it (all bar Call to Arms of the tv movies are lame imo)...

There nearly was a film (title Babylon 5: The Memory of Shadows) but got canned. There are several books of varying quality (haven't read many but the best I read was the excellent To Dream in the City of Sorrows). They covered the telepath war (I always thought it was a shame they never filmed this), Londos story and a good few other things. Click here for book covers.

There are also a couple of short stories floating around which were written exclusively for the B5 magazine based on fan suggestions. I've only read one and know the subject of one other (can't for the life of me remember the third). The first was a story about Captain Ivonava (remember she was promoted at the end of season 4/aftermath of Earth Civil War) taking command of a new Warlock class EA destroyer. Turned out the technology was based on Shadow tech with huge implications for the future...the other one I heard about was about Marcus finally being brought back to life! If memory serves it was roughly 500 years in the future (going by the B5 main series timeline) and when he finds out the time and that Susan is dead he finds a way to clone her. He doesn't tell her about the time and basically buggers off to some uncharted world to live out the rest of his days with her...

Yep, sadly both actors of Franklin and G'kar died in the last couple of years. JMS (the B5 creator not U75 poster!) has said he will never recast them or any original actors (this was one reason the film got fucked because Warner Bros insisted on bringing in new famous actors for the roles and yes Bruce Willis was mooted apparently to play Garibald) which means no film or tv appearances of their characters.

Oh yeah there were a number of non computer games released over the years (the card game was excellent) and probably other bits and pieces but basically that leaves us here with new news of the anthology and possible game...

*waits for sad fanboy flamings*

You're a fucking superstar KE - no fanboy flamings here, I *heart* B5 almost as much as you do!

Will have to see about getting hold of them books, esp the Psi-War stuff.

I really tried to get my head round the card game, I got a Centauri deck and a League deck, but it was just soooo complicated.

In The Beginning was pretty fab too, if only for Londo's narration.

That's a shame, it was excellent. I had a couple of 4/5 player games which went on all night due to political horsetrading!:D

Nah, that's one reason why I didn't like the film. Thought the narration was naff...:o
