BA/T5 Joke

T5 is a bit pants. I flew out of there on Friday, still waiting for my luggage which I'm informed is at Heathrow and will be sent at some point. This is immensely useful, I have made sure I keep 'some point' free in my diary so I can receive it.

It's nice that it's big and airy with lots of light, but it crap that 99% of the shops are unhelpful stufff like Harrods, Cartier, Gordon bleedin' Ramsays. Very few normal places to eat food. There are two bars, both too small. Some of the gates are right in the middle of the shopping part which is annoying. And I dunno whether it was just 'cause it new or a permanent arrangement but they don't seem to tell you which gate to go to until half hour before the take-off, and some of the gates are 20 mins away.

Check in and security were very quick, but this may be because there seemed to be hardly anyone there. Or it maybe be because it's so big it seems that there was hardly anyone there. Or it maybe something else.

I flew out of it on Friday, after flying into terminal 2. My checked in luggage was transferred over and I'm one of the lucky ones who didn't lose any of it. There def seems to be too much emphasis on expensive shops.......I don't think there'll be a paricularly high proprtion of passengers who'll want to get something from Gucci, Prada or Tiffany while waiting for a flight.

Hooray for BA! I have my luggage back, and it only took them a little over 2 weeks to find and deliver it. So which airline shall I choose next time I fly to London?

Terminal 5, sponsored by Virgin Atlantic. :D

This guy from BA has fallen on his sword or been pushed on to it.

Who'd trust anyone with a haircut like that?

I did my first business trip on Eurostar in March. It was wonderful - I arrived there in just 15 mins, check in took five minutes I didn't have to take my laptop out of its case, nor take my jacket off. There were no liquid restrictions, they didn't confiscate my tweezers and I didn't have to give up my baggage and pray it wouldn't get lost. Bliss. F*ck airports.

BA have almost redeemed themselves, they are sending me a cheque for the compensation I asked for (just 2 days ago) without any arguing about it.

Heard on the news today that some of the major travel insurers are refusing to cover luggage lost in future at teminal 5 - one more reason not to use Heathrow

i'm so unmoved by all this, it's still a miracle being to be able to get on a plane fly and half way round the world. What's with a bit of delay & baggage probs. Do these people really deserve our sympathy ?

Personally I'm not actually here looking for sympathy  And it's not knocking the miracle of flight (not really a miracle, more aan application of aerodynamics and engineering) more of BA not adhering to their side of an agreement and being incompetent

Do you have the same attitude when you car breaks down? Or when anything goes wrong?

What if people have connecting flights to catch? What if they're on their way to a wedding/funeral? What if it's someone's first holiday in years?
