The b-side to the Spitting Image - Hold a Chicken In The Air song is the gem 'Never Met A Nice South African'...
As it happens, I met quite a nice South African the other week.
danny baker once did a radio show playing just songs that artists did in foreign languages - back in the day it was normal to rerecord your pop hit in french, german, etc, and these versions would get put out in those countries. And why not! Good tradition i think
The last time I saw one of those for sale on ebay (at least a year ago) it was going for about £1500.Also 'Dead Souls' one of my favourite JD songs ever. B-Side of 'Atmosphere' originally if you bought the ultra rare Sordide Sentimentale French version of it. Yes, Factory decided to release one of Joy Division's most iconic songs on an obscure French record label no-one had ever heard of so it was practically impossible to buy. THAT'S WHAT FACTORY WERE LIKE. It used to be worth about £100 even way back in the 80's.
Bloody hell. The last time I saw one of those for sale on ebay (at least a year ago) it was going for about £1500.

With the stickers, obvs!Bloody hell.![]()

Oops I'm getting confused with the Factory Sample ep (that was the one with the all important stickers)With the stickers, obvs!![]()
But the price still applies, providing it's an original of course
Ok maybe I exaggerated a bit - I've just checked ebay and the last one sold for £799 in August. Still a pretty handsome sum for something that would have cost about a fiver when it was first released.Bloody hell.![]()
Nuts isn't it? I mean Atmosphere and Dead Souls are good songs, like, but fuck me I'd want a car for that kind of money.Ok maybe I exaggerated a bit - I've just checked ebay and the last one sold for £799 in August. Still a pretty handsome sum for something that would have cost about a fiver when it was first released.

Now this one I remember. It was the b-side of a fundraising record the Madness boys released on their own Zarjazz label.
