May just be a teensy bit of hype around this one
First Trailer up -
Released April 27th 2018
I'll see you all in April 2018.
2nd Trailer just out...
Some good stuff in there for both the comic nerds and general audience, looks like a decent amount of time spent on the villain and backstory, probably Marvel's weakest link in many films.
That last scene with Cap
Ok after digesting it a bit , awesome , funny, moving , looks fantastic and is genuinely exciting , definitely the 'empire strikes back ' of the marvel universe , what an ending....
....only it's not, cos there's another Avengers movie coming next year....
Yeah but its a good start to the story
I'm currently in peckhamplex waiting for the 8.15 screening to start.
Got front row seats dead centre just as I like.
Bought my tickets for Saturday's 13:45 showing last week.
I enjoyed it.
On the MCU scale I think it scores highly.
Thanos makes for a decent villain . Doesn't come across as the emo and swol California raisin like he did previously.
What did you likers think of the last one?
(Which was kind of shit)
Saw it at Peckhamplex, just home and relaxed after a couple of glasses of booze. Good audience reactions there again, applauded even as the film started and nothing had even happened yet! My partner and I have already planned out the next film, we're confident of our predictions (unless we're wrong and then I'll try and remember to delete this post).
Age of Ultron?
Maybe my least favorite MCU movie.
I'm not even that keen on the first avengers movie.
Civil war was the best "Avengers" movie for me.
We must have been at the same screening
Spoiler: biggest laugh of the night
The fake out on the mid credits scene
We creased up at that (spoiler) bit.
The whole audience hushing, getting all expectant and then... denied. But glad to see everyone staying in their seats for a change and finally rewarded with the hint of a Marvellous character introduction was great (even if the guy next to me kept saying her name. All right, mate! I heard you the first twenty times, you massive fellow nerd!")
We were also on the front row, crooked neck, felt like we were in the movie. I think I know you by sight now but wasn't sure, thought it was you there too.
Seeing it again?
I kinda thought I recognised you as well. About 3 seats to the left with the enthusiastic guy between us?
I generally don't do multiple screenings. I like time to reflect. Plus I prioritise seeing stuff I haven't before.
Only really do re-watches if something was off with the previous screening.
Aye, that was me, guy with short hair, black specs. That enthusiastic guy between us was pretty much acting out the fight scenes too! Was well into it.
I don't think I want to see it again for a while, need a bit of time to process. My partner however would watch it again in an instant.
Having sung praises I should mention criticisms.
1. It's kinda half a movie. However it's a good example of a half movie. Not as good as LOTR but better than stuff like the last potter movie.
Spoiler: Fitting in with the other movies
Having just watched Thor ragnarok and having that movies ending smash directly into this films opening gave me movie tonal whiplash.
Spoiler: My dad could beat up your dad
while I loved all the fight scenes I really felt the inconsistency in power levels as each character powers up and down to be exactly as strong or weak as they need to be to facilitate that current fight.
I think i need to watch it again to process
Ultron was a mess. Entirely forgettable and not worth rewatching.
I'm strangely excited about seeing this one tomorrow though. MCU has been on good form recently.
I agree , ultron was underwhelming , loved thor ragnarok , black panther and now this , marvel are on fire.
In fact i think i will go back and see infinity wars again over the weekend .
possibly the best mcu movie yet imo
As far as I knew it was always billed as infinity wars part 1+2 so was never expecting the story to end at the end of this movie
It's like a pirate had a baby with an angel.
Thor can speak groot...it was an elective.
My brothers being a git at the moment he rang me whilst watching it to tell me spoilers, 'though he might be lying about it which i doubt as he has previous form for spoiling plus he rang me again when he finished watching, he drives me nuts sometimes.
Just saw it, really enjoyed it. It's nice that we don't have all that long to wait for the second-half resolution one next May.
Captain Marvel origin movie in March first, obvs.
