ATP World Tour Finals

What a choker. Murray. Not the beeb.

No way, he played with a hell of a lot of guts and fought for every ball. It was a very good effort. He just cant compete with the quality and composure when Federer is on top of his game like tonight.

Blaming it on the wind

A "satellite" got blown over according to Sue Barker. Must have been some wind :hmm:

Sky Sports didn't seem to have any problems with their coverage so claiming all broadcasters in the world were affected as Barker did was untruthful and playing into the hands of the anti BBC brigade, I could imagine The Sun making hay with such comments.

I'm assuming as host broadcaster Sky had a fibre link from the O2 to their broadcast centre in Isleworth and other channels including the BBC used a "world feed" via satellite which plausibly did have problems due to the wind and Sky as they had their own landline would have been unaffected.

Shame the BBC didn't just rebroadcast Sky Sports, there's been a precedent in extreme weather conditions when the world feed of the Germany v Turkey Euro 2008 match went down due to a thunderstorm German TV simply rebroadcast Swiss TV, Sky's lawyers may not have been too amused though :D

Federer looked like he had the match wrapped up despite losing the first set. I am not sure if Murray's coach Corretja is an asset for hard courts. Isn't he a clay specialist? It's one thing to prepare with Corretja for Roland Garros, it's not same as the fast O2 courts. Not convinced by Murray's long shots either.

His first serve ratio was shocking in the final set. Not worthy of being on the same court with any of the top four. Fed didn't win that match, murray simply lost it. That's a choke.

I did think it kinda nuts last night when the commentators kept saying how it was his 'home crowd'..

They cheered Fed harder to my ear

Federer turned it on at the end of the 2nd set/beginning of the 3rd set, and it clearly rattled Murray especially with his 1st serves, but the sweaty still chased down everything and played aggressive shots. If anything, he was trying too hard.

Soderling must've had some tidy odds at the start to win it. he may still?

He was, but he hasn't looked as good recently, as he was playing earlier in the year.

You can still grab him at 10.5 on betfair to win the whole thing, and was a shade under 5 before this match to reach the final.

Bollox, was obviously saving himself for his Nadal match ;)

Will be chasing my losses by backing Nadal tonight, can't believe Davydenko is favourite atm ?

I've just hedged a little on nadal too (my under 1.5 on united aint lookin good).

Gone for a 2-0 victory for him. Crazy odds on that, I think he can do it though. Famous last words.

What price did you get ?

I'm waiting to see if I can pick up Nadal at anything over 2.4 in-play.

Davy's got a decent h2h against him on the hard courts, which makes me slightly wary.

Actually that looks a bit optimistic now, didn't realise that Nadal has closed in from 2.2ish this morning to 1.9 fav.

Go on Rafa !!!

He looks a different player after that break, playing with more of a smile on his face :)
