ATP Nightmare Before Christmas - My Bloody Valentine to curate

Yeah Geoff Barrow is likely to be doing something doom-y now, but I haven't actually heard it.

Anti-pop consortium are touring so they should play it!

I listened to Geoff Barrow's new band Beak on myspace today - it's guitar based indeed but it ain't doom. It's surprisingly 'post-rockish' to use that ridiculous phrase.

New additions to the Ten Years weekend!!! A lot of the smaller bands this time round…

The Magic Band
Lightning Bolt
Múm
OM
Edan - yay!!! :)
Porn
Tall Firs

Porn were the best band at the last ATP I went to (the Melvins/Fantomas).

Absolutely blew me away - mentally and physically:D.

I've now flogged my ticket to the MBV one - just got to wait until the funds clear and then we can buy the 10 years ticket....

Awesome :)

They've just released more chalets for both the December ATPs if anyone needs to get over the post-summer / festival season blues!

I heard there are about 5 to 6 more bands to announce....

Seeing as I'd like to see nearly every band on the bill I can imagine there will be some nasty clashes though

Still, mustn't grumble, I literally cannot wait :D

Hasn't Sun Ra been dead for quite a while now?

Yeah he died in the early ninetees. They play on under a very old Marshall Allen. I think theres more interest in the Arkestra now than ever before - shows how ahead of their time they were... Pharoah Sanders still plays occasionally to, but I dont think he plays with the Arkestra anymoe...

5 or 6 more? Nice :)

Yeah, that's one hell of a bill! :D

aarrgghhh, I've just been offerred a ticket for the MBV one, oh god I want to go! If only I could find £160 down the back of the sofa....

could it be a christmas present to yourself?

i'm planning on having a quiet christmas and new year, that's how i'm justifying spending stupid money on a festival in December!

We have room only accommodation for 5 of us. Anyone know how that is going to be?

Will it be as 1 room? I'm wondering if I need to take a kettle/toaster etc. I can't find any details as yet but will give them a call. Got a few other friends who have an apartment...:mad:but they have said we can use their kitchen..:)

I was advised to bring my own duvet as it gets cold so it will be that and a hot water bottle for me.

It will be 1 room with a double bed, and another probably with bunk bed and a single bed. It will have a kettle but no toaster!
I think if you have room only (I've never done that) then that deal they offer where you get breakfast /lunch / dinner looks pretty good!

Thank you. I just gave them a call and the deal you speak of is not open yet. a very friendly lady informed me that it's usually about this time that she gets the details and the calls come in.

At the moment she has no information or whether it will go on the website but advised to call back tomorrow.

There is a kettle and we can pack extra milk, tea,.coffee etc. Will prob pack a few mugs as they might be those titchy little cups that doesn't hold enough and gets cold too quickly.

I'm rather excited. Had my first look at Butlins website yesterday and looking forward to stroll on the beach and going down the flumes...:)

What's the deal with tickets? I don't have one or a reference number. Will it just be my name?

Ah yes, I just checked the website FAQs and it says they send out details nearer the time, but this is what the deal was for the Breeders (I have NO idea what the food is like :) )

What about Meal Deals?

Butlins will be selling meal deal packages for those of you in Room Only accommodation.

Here's the deal

Weekend Package at £40.00 per person includes:

All you can eat 3 course dinner with unlimited soft and hot drinks - Friday / Saturday / Sunday

All you can eat breakfast - Full English and Continental Breakfast with unlimited soft and hot drinks - Saturday / Sunday / Monday

Whoever is the 'lead booker' for your chalet gets sent all the ticket info and picks up all the wristbands on site...

I booked the tickets and don't recall being asked to bring a reference number. I will check back my emails. I have my email receipt.

If meal deal stays around £40 then I will go for that. Keep things simple. :)

Looks like there are no meal deals this time. Lady I spoke to says they didn't take off very well.

Myself and partner would have happily spent £40 but our 3 friends probably won't eat as much as we will. Generally at festivals it's a hearty breakfast then nothing till evening meal for us. I liked the sound of the minimal hassle as we normally cook for ourselves in our camper.

Now I'm going to pack a toaster to do crumpets & toast for breakfast .

I had a look on the website and it appears that they send tickets out hence my lack of reference number..:)

Now I have a reference number and a bunch of forms to fill out. Also just had email about early check in on the Thurs and seeing MBV for £11. Not sure if we can make it though...

There is a high possibility that I will have a spare free ticket but comes with no accommodation if anyone is interested or has a friend who is. It would mean them crashing with you. I will know for def by the weekend.

oh god, spare tickets!

i so want to go....you wouldn't want actually paying for the ticket would you?
