ATP 2009 - ATP vs. The Fans and The Breeders to curate

i fancy a trip to NY next year anyway, i have a $300 flight voucher to use up. they are only curating one day anyway.

three of us now have the cash to pay for a chalet, but our fourth has backed out on us, and, of course, there are no three person chalets available. grrrr.

and it seems fugazi are likely additions to the fans' weekend

Aren't they just likely to be the next band to be asked, don't know how likely it is they'll say yes.

Yeah but they also said that about Interpol and Guided by Voices before now then realised neither could do it! However...I will ask some ATP peeps as well and see if they will spill the beans..

Bands being asked to play weekend 1 this week...

1 Beck
2 Harvey Milk
25 Jeffrey Lewis
50 Errors
75 Xiu Xiu
100 Parts & Labor

...not bad!

That's awesome, I was so surprised Xiu Xiu weren't higher up and was going to vote for them but was waiting for this round to see who'd be invited. And Parts and Labor only just didn't make it onto my list, now I don't have to feel bad :)

Really need some stuff that isn't just guitar based though I wan't someone like Kode 9 or High Places to mix it up a bit.

aaah well, Fugazi were only ever a pipe dream I guess/

I'll have to vote for some practical instead. Original Dead Kennedys, maybe

Yep, some Dubstep would go down a treat :)

Although I think the line up is looking great, I am genuinly surprised at the kind of bands getting lots of the votes. Do people really want to see Eels, Justice, Postal Service, !!! etc that much and not acts like The Bug who is way further down or any interesting electro or dubstep.

I guess if it's not Aphex Twin or Squarepusher the hipsters aren't that bothered.

I thought newer smaller acts like Rolo Tomassi and Dananananakroyd would be a lot higher up as well.

Hopefully the organisers might invite some more varied acts to mix it up a bit.

I'm going to the first weekend mainly because of the Jesus Lizard though the 2nd weekends line up looks good. Both maybe I could sell an organ.

New adds for weekend 1...

Errors
Parts & Labor
Jeffrey Lewis & The Junkyard
Qui

:)

...and weekend 2...

X (original line-up)
Whispertown 2000

The invites that have just gone out are a bit of a joke, well maybe not a joke but too optimistic: Eels, Pavement, Killing Joke, The Mae Shi, Neutral Milk Hotel and School of Seven Bells.

Would really like Mae Shi and School of Seven Bells to play though, which is lucky because they're porbably the two most likely on that list to say yes.
