Atherstone Fire - all what is wrong with britain today

Yes, which is why I find it odd that detective-boy appears to be imagining that this thread represents some kind of huge and deeply hilarious victory for his point of view...

what did i lose, you dumb fuck? i wasn't involved in your other row, you don't know what my views on it are. The issue is that you tried to exploit this for your own purposes - which is a cunt's trick regardless of the point you claim you're trying to make.

As i said before, I've defended you in the past but you've fucking lost it, and you can go fuck yourself

bit weird this, D/B is usually very sober and analytical in his posts, this is quite nasty stuff, something happened?

I might have guessed it: the reason durutti started this thread was in order to get another cheap shot in about immigrants.

The Daily Mail, durutti? Now I know where you really stand. Of course, you can't resist the temptation to crap on about the mysterious "left" either.

Pitoyable.

Pathetic post nino.
durutti is not anti immigrant. But being a slightly more intelligent liberal than you he recognises that immigration is used to make the world a more unequal place.
Sadly though being a Liberal he opposes the idea of strict immigration controls.

But would you prefer it if this story wasnt on urban? You probably would wouldnt you?

The only thing that is "pathetic" is your reply to my post. Get a grip, get a life, get something but get the fuck out of my face with your puerile attempts at discussion.

On top of quite deliberate HSE cutbacks in inspections, statisitic and record keeping etc

Many workplaces are accidents waiting to happen. Health and safety is being neglected by the government and private industry.:(

we all are guilty for wanting cheap food .. grow yer fking own!
Given that I'm on a low wage and live ina 1-room flat without a garden or allotment within reach, I really don't see how I'm to blame for wanting cheap food in order to live and not growing it myself.

If you think about it groceries are just about the only thing that are cheap in this overpriced little island. I know the supermarkets are ripping off producers and it's bad but at the end of the day people in this country would be unable to eat (and have enough money left over to pay extortionate rates for housing, fuel, heating, transport etc etc.)

And all exacerbated by incompetent firefighters ...

There probably wasn't anyone inside at all, it's just a story being put round to cover up their fuck-ups. *

i assume you are being ironic ..

actually i should have said the best and worst of britain .. theh best being firefighters who laid down their lives for these workers and migrants :(

Another fire service fuck-up. The whole lot of them are out of control. (ETA: If they'd done their jobs right in the first place the fire precautions would have been in place to save lives. Idle, incompetent idiots.) *

jesus you are serious .. jesus man get a life .. show some fucking respect :(

are you sure???

It was a shock to me as well. But after the hotel fire in St Ives where certain elements of fire cover/equipment were found to be wanting, it also came to light that fire certification is now a do it yourself job.

a cheap shot?? fuck off you moron .. you defending this sort of industry then??

people working on minimum wage i the fields, often slaves to gang masters???

massive packing warehouses with NO sprinkler systems cos they cost too much

paying migrants peanuts??

having to sleep in the warehouse as they can not afford to work AND afford a roof over their heads????

this is acceptable in YOUR socialism YOUR society????

prick ..

yep - between durutti's initial attempt to make it an immigration issue, and then db's despicable attempts to use it to perpetuate another battle, it's a thread urban should be very proud of.

i did not try to make it an immigration issue .. sadly britain today has many issues where immigration is intregal .. and where people are being treated like total shit there is pretty usually migrants involved

why do you find this difficult? it is victorian thatcherite britain .. the spivvy shitty side of britain today .. why is it a problem to accept that immigration is part of it??

i presume you despise the system that creates these things???

as a society really BUT it is an individual issue too .. 80% of us DO have gardens etc .. we waste our country ..

and too many people are reactionaryly complaining but won't do anything about it

and same with oil .. people don't like muslims blowing up buses?? .. then stop using their oil ..

we do have personal responsability .. we need personal responsability ..

people don't want immigrants here? .. then don't buy from supermarkets

people worrried about china? then don't buy their goods

people have to decide what country they want .. at the mo, with nowt better on the horizon, they seem to settle for cheap food (picked by gangs/packed in these warehouses), cheap petrol ( courtesy of uncle sam), cheap clothes ( from peacocks made by kids in bangla desh), cheap wide screen ( made in china) and cheap flights ( destroying our environment)

and not everyone at all goes for this option at all ..

so not true .. we have millions of acres that are NOT used for food ( set aside) without even getting into the animal protein versus veg protein arguement .. we have millions of out of work people

as i said above .. we need to make choices ..

p.s. supermarkets and govt are deliberately putting farmers out of business .. check out what LOrd Hoskins of northern foods and new labour scum thinks about it all

If minimum wage legislation, and Health and Safety regulations were enforced properly, employers would not be employing immigrant labour.

Ask the "labour" government.
i don't think we really need to bother .. maggie started it .. labour have continued it .. itis the free market .. and it has fucked this country

What is 'not true' about the fact groceries are just about the only basic thing that aren't overpriced? I didn't say anything about our capacity for food production or otherwise.

Q possibly the supermarkets are putting our farmers out of business, that's something else that needs redressing. It isn't necessarily the fault of the shopper who has often nowhere else to go to buy food. (I don't have an greengrocer around here, nor a butcher or fishmonger)

No, you fuck off. You can never resist the temptation to talk about your pet subject: immigration, and predictably you start mouthing off about "immigration" in the OP. Of course, there is nothing to link this fire or the deaths of the fire-fighters with immigration but what do you do? You use this unfortunate incident as an excuse to moan about immigration.

You're pathetic.

This is you to a tee

this is acceptable in YOUR socialism YOUR society????

prick ..

It must be easy living in a one-dimensional world. Oh and "my" socialism" Wtf are you talking about? What are you? A socialist? No, you're some sort of confused syndicalist who is still living in the last century.

So you read the Daily Mail, durutti? It is interesting that you cite one of the most reactionary and vehemently anti-immigration papers in the country. A paper which views immigrants and foreigners with disdain. This is the paper that supported Oswald Moseley in the 30's and you want me to take those articles seriously?

Fuck off.
