Aston Villa v Liverpool

I see the same things in him that I saw in Fowler all those many moons ago...

The first time I saw Fowler, he took the piss out of the Southampton defence and looked like the Artful dodger on the football pitch. He was class.

Ciise isn't in that league imo.

Cisse is a bit of a prima donna - I've never seen him make a tackle yet, but he is a goalscorer and only 24 so there is time to mold him a bit yet. You get the feeling that once he settles a bit more into the english game he could be a great striker.

He is the biggest whinger in the team as far as I can see.

When things aren't going well, he's the first one who's head drops.

He's the sort of player to fuck up a move then blame a team mate.

To me that's not a great attitude.

Bear in mind, though, his protracted transfer saga to Liverpool and the outright statements he made at the time... dignity.

It's also fair to say he's not had the treatment from Rafa that he has deserved... and I didn't read any whinging.. I thought he came across as thoughtful and intelligent.

It's also fair to say that his goals ratio is pretty good, considering. And he's been on a different level to a lot of his team-mates this season... especially the strikers.

Sniff. Don't... you'll make me cry.
:(

IMO Fowler was one of the best of all time. You're right, Cisse isn't in that league... but I think he could be... the same spark is there, the same affinity with the Kop is growing. You can hear it... and although I'm not there so much anymore.. I bet you can feel it.

It's that that gave God his powers... the love of the people. What else could it be?

:D

Agreed his goals ratio is good and he handled himself well - saying the right things to the press etc.

But I'm talking about his attitude on the pitch. He stands out as having a stinky attitude when things aren't going well.

Blaming others etc when he's to blame.

Actually, I've only heard pretty bad remarks on the Kop this season about Cisse and the fans weren't overly pleased with his performance against Fulham - Skyscraper said that there wasn't much pleasure to be had watching him v West Ham either.

"He's a class act and you can see what skill and quality he has. We see how good his touch is in training every day and it's just been a case of him taking it into the games.

So your evidence is "what Jamie Carragher says about training".

:D

Maybe you'll win the 'training' premiership.

Well, there's a lot of people who go so there's bound to be different opinions... but what I've heard from the kop singing and from fans I know - they're finding the groove.

Either way, we both want him to be great.. it's good for us all - so get behind him, I say and don't be too critical... after all it's only about now that he was due to be back from the bad break...

All this so far has been bonus time!

Would you say Keane has an attitude problem? Cantona?

It's no detriment to a player that he wants the best all the time.

Made hard work of it, don't know what Cisse was doing out on the right  thought we were past that, Crouch needs to stop passing it back to the goalie.

Well I paid the £7 to watch it. I don't quite know what to say anymore apart from what an utter shambles Villa are at the moment.

With the players that we signed in the summer, I had high(er) hopes for the season. :(

Someone told me the other day that you can get odds of 20:1 for all 3 midlands clubs to go down.

Thought it was a good match.

Villa had chances, so did Liverpool. Had to sit in with the Villa fans after a ticket fuck up. To be honest, I was thinking they were going to be slagging their team off a lot. It didn't happen. They were very good.

The Villa fans were laughing a lot at Cisse. How shit was he? I hope we get rid of him in January. If only we could have shipped him off to Houllier and put in a bid for Owen.... His pace comes in handy, but his crossing is woeful - utterly woeful. He was playing up front Sleater - but drifting right to exploit Barry's lack of pace.

Crouch was fucking brilliant    ......... he turned the game round and got us the three points.

And the Villa fans were absolutely marvelous towards Peter Crouch - the applause the Holte End gave him was amazing.

They even f**king sang his name (twice)!!!! Once when he was warming up and once when he came on the pitch!

you'll be alright! Baros is back from injury.

The Villa crowd were pretty quiet - but when you attack the noise is impressive.

You lot could have won that game imo.

I reck it was a penalty.

You had some decent chances but we defended really well.

You'll come good imho and finish above that lot imho.

Saw a fair few Villa fans wearing this T-shirt....
