Eh? Beluga's are white!

They are, but it's not so much the colouring as the general facial similarity.

A Beluga.

Marlon.

if O'Neill can get his confidence up then he can be a good player for you. He suffered last season from us playing long balls up to him. He can't hold the ball up and he can't head it either.

What he can do is run on to balls behind the defence, shrug defenders off and then slot it home.

As long as he doesn't have time to think about it.

to be honest i'm totally fucked off at Villa's joke of an effort in the transfer market. we need to spend £40m to have a chance of challenging the likes of Spurs/Everton.

what the fuck is O'Neil playing at? if it wasn't O'Neil i'd say sack the manager for failing to buy good players

West Villa

i think Villa and West Ham should merge under the mighty claret and blue banner in a transnational love match spanning London and the Midlands. its the only way any of us will win anything

that's made me feel physically ill.

Marlon fucking Harewood for £4 mill. Has MON ever bought a player not from Prem or Championship ?

It's just dreadful, it perpetuates mediocrity and shows the genuine extent of ambition. Get a proper Director of Football, FFS.

Actually, I think it's good business sense. Obviously your new American Overlords are going to be starting up an Aston Villa themed aquarium, with Marlon 'Martins' Harewood as its star attraction.

Works for Seaworld with Shamu ;)

John Carew - although that was probably only because Lyon wanted to take (ha ha ha!) Milan Baros off our hands.

Any of you Villans fans have seen the new away strip (see below)?

It looks impressive to me, and just like the home strip, it seems like Nike have gone old skool with the strip design. As you've said that the sponsor logo spoils it (too big imo). My cousin who supports the Claret and Blue lads will probably buy one of the shirts.

At least the colours of the 32 Red logo are integrated to our shirt colours - which is a lot better than some sponsors designs we've had in the past and better than a lot of other clubs have.

villa 3, inter 0

right, we're gonna win the league :)

OK, it's only a friendly, but that's still some win. And Inter had at least most of their regular first team playing.

Up the Villa.

Went to the game and was sat in the Holte. We were robbed. Riley (the ref) completely lost the plot foir a while. Didn't have a clue what he was doing.

We weren't that bad and had some pretty decent periods of play. Young was absolutely skinning Finnan on the left wing.

We were robbed by a dodgy reffing decision at the end though even if it was an absolutely sublime free kick from Gerrard. Even Alan Hansen on MOTD admitted it wasn't a free kick.

Carew was a waste of space up front although apparently he and Laursen were ill which is why Laursen went off at half time.

We have some pretty decent attacking options but very thin in defence. When is MON going to stop talking about it and start signing some players?!

That'll be the one where Bouma raised his hands twice and shoved Pennant and he still only got a yellow card?

Or the one where a Liverpool player got tripped on the edge of the area (inside) as Villa were clearing, immediately after the Villa player took a direct hit in the knackers?

Or do you mean the one where Petrov nicked the ball away from Gerrad but left his leg in and rolled Gerrard round, thus obstructing him?

Villa got what they desrved from that game. Fuck all. Apart from a couple of early efforts they were harmless. The keeper was the best player for you. Ashley Young did take the piss out of Finnan at times then showed himself up as a twat by bleating to the ref for Pennant to get sent off.
