Ashley Madison - my martial affair exposure - I blame the hackers (impact team) for my divorce

Wired article http://www.wired.com/2015/08/happened-hackers-posted-stolen-ashley-madison-data/

HACKERS WHO STOLE sensitive customer information from the cheating site AshleyMadison.com appear to have made good on their threat to post the data online.

A data dump, 9.7 gigabytes in size, was posted on Tuesday to the dark web using an Onion address accessible only through the Tor browser.

The files appear to include account details and log-ins for some 32 million users of the social networking site, touted as the premier site for married individuals seeking partners for affairs. Seven years worth of credit card and other payment transaction details are also part of the dump, going back to 2007.

Yeah, some of those can't be right (I have worked for one of those organisations and that isn't how the email addresses are made up) but one could very well be real as it is. Iyswim.

Indeed, these people were planning to cheat, why would they use their own email address when it was not necessary.

Their credit card however is another matter, it seems very unlikely they would be able to tweak the name on their credit cards. Was that detail in the data dumped onto the web?

I downloaded this. I might have some time this afternoon to have a look through it.
I am more interested in the hashes. But might post up some stats.

Some people are nosey. You want to look on a site to see what these cheats look like and maybe double check your spouse ain't on there.

Do you use a real email?
Or do you type a false email? If only because you don't want spam.

I've typed in any old series of characters an @ sign more jiggerish and a dot com just to see into some sites that required an email but i didn't really want to engage with. e.g. [email protected]
Kinder than signing someone else up to spam by using a genuine looking but not your's email..

I'm assuming like a lot of sites you only needed to provide valid credit details if you wanted to contact someone, do more than just browse.
