I got my interview cos of networking and someone I knew yeh, but there were a load of other candidates so why do you think I got my job?

I think that 'The Talent' sketch is so fucking apt

It does seem in any creative field the talented don't get through as much (or possibly as quickly) as those who knows someone who knows someone... and those in the know usually have a trust fund to keep them going. Sad fact of life. Perserverence is all very well, but how do you live on no money til said artist decides your worth paying? Or decides you're the competition and gets rid of you?

Ever see Art School Confidential with John Malcovich? Although it was full of sterotypes, I'd met enough flesh and blood sterotypes that it was spot on too.
