I dunno about the Leeds one, I'm talking about the "McDonalds Kop".

Dunno about the kop, but the bit I remember was to the left of the kop that was the Mcdonalds family enclosure.

The 'official name' is irrelevant. Surely not a single gooner is ever gonna call it the Emirates? especially not given that the wags have already christened it 'dubaibury'? most of my gooner mates simply call it 'ashburton'.
The gooners can call it whatever they like but the official name isn't irrelevant because whenever anyone involved with the club refers to it they'll call it the Emirates, and more importantly every tv commentator will do so too - and that means in every country where they show Premiership and Champions League matches on tv, which is a hell of a lot and therefore the viewing figures are immense. It's the same reason that the German world cup stadiums had brand names attached to them: maximum worldwide exposure for the companies involved.

Arsenal couldn't have afforded to build the place if they hadn't offered naming rights to a major sponsor, and I'm sure that Liverpool will have to do the same when/if they ever manage to build a new stadium. Like it or not, it's the way of the world these days.

I agree with what you're saying, but this bit isn't correct. The Allianz Arena in Munich became FIFA World Cup Stadium Munich for the duration of the tournament as Allianz weren't a World Cup sponsor. They had to take the name down. There was another sponsored venue that had the same treatment, can't remember which one it was now.

If only the broader world, and specifically the Middle East, would see the co-operation between a part Jewish board at Arsenal and the Muslim owned Emirates. How much more of a better world it would be then the miserable affair we have now???

I might even go out and kiss a Spud.....:D

Trashburton Grove? It's built on a rubbish dumb after all :p
It was actually built on an industrial estate with a Waste disposal unit and lot of chemical contamination.

We do a lot of drugs in North London.

I fear it will be more of the same deafening silence at CashBurdenGrave stadium
I've been calling it The Death Star since it first rose above the Holloway Road, not caught on yet, though.

Whatever it is, it could be worse...
