as good as those are....

the sunday times and news of the screws were arsenal-centric in their reports, as is the grauniad today. i think it's a fair point that, in terms of the media, arsenal have comeout of that match remarkably well. Becuase in footballing terms, they didn't really deserve to, it was only a draw at home.

But the ambition was with Arsenal. Away game or not, Man U played a counter attacking game with two deep, deep midfielders. So much for their much hyped tradition of attacking football.

Utd's play was best summed up by Anderson. A whole-hearted yet petulant, hard done-by performance, whingeing at referees and trying desperately to get other players booked. Gutsy, but not stylish.

arsenal players are the worst in the league at trying to get players booked....re watch the Liverpool Arsenal game last weekend, never seen such continual mock card flashing etc....

Not very convincing Drink. Few players are as latently dislikeable as Anderson and his antics. Panto villain future that lad.

Mind you Fergie leads by example. His poor-tempered revisionist whinge about Arsenal getting a free kick to lead to the goal was laughable - particularly when MOTD timed the difference between the FK and goal as over a minute and a half! Bloody cheek considering the immediate push on the way to Utd's goal too...

:D

Watch flappy hands eboue and toure and then get high and mighty about honourable sportsmen, clamouring for bookings etc....at the end of the day you boys got a draw at home and anyone would have thought you'd won the treble...still shows you've come far and may do better than your usual fourth place:)

we have indeed. whether arsenal can keep it going is likely to become the dominant story of the season and if they do win then i think it would really be something special. fairytale stuff.

the celebrations were embarrassing, youse nicked a draw in the last minute at home ffs, still youse went apeshit celebrating last season when youse stole an essentially meaningless win in the last minutes, so i'm guessing playing Man Utd is your new European Cup.

Here you go revol68...some lessons on the dynamics of football and when and at what time you score linking up to the players emotions.
That goal will give us a huge lift, yet again. Draws are weird results, because whilst the scoreline is level, the feelings of the two teams are very different, depending on who ends the game on a high.

Against Liverpool and Man United, Arsenal have stared defeat in the face, but clawed it back late on, and shown everyone that they are up to the test. United, on the other hand, will be left quite devastated conceding late on and taking only a point, having lead twice.

Whilst this draw almost feels like a win, I must stress again that it really could have been a win if Wenger had got it right upfront.

(from Arsenal mania)

So what happened with the Spuds encounter mate?

going different ways on the escalator at KCross. four of them saw my arsenal shirt started singing we hate arsenal blah blah blah and then threw all their beers at me. i got soaked.

i just laughed at them and sang 'going down, going down, going down. etc' which was funny to me as i was actually going down the escalator at the time. luckily that was the end of it as i was pretty defenseless. they did get me pretty bad with the beer though.

So meaningless that you're still whining about it, how many months later?:D
