arsenal v juventus

No he hasn't, plus I dont think he's on drugs so he might even mean it. Messi has a hormone deficiency that has to be treated with drugs - he was 4' 9" when he was 16!!! Apparently he shot up a foot in about 6 months

Of course they are...because he's the new Maradonna  Messi is an amazing talent (and part of the reason why Barca didn;t fight to keep Cesc), but he's still learning. I'm biased but from what i've seen, Messi could be the real deal - better maybe than even Ronaldo when he joined Barca under Robson.

The pressure for these kids is immense, no wonder so many of them fail. Denilson's price tag must have weighed him down because Betis fans expected him to be Pele. Pennant too seems to have suffered from that.

I think Wenger is smart enough not to let that happen to Cesc or Walcott, but whether they'll produce it week in, week out is a different matter.

I Think what happened to Denilson was more bad decisions off the pitch then anything else, not unlike Anelka. Interesting article in Teamtalk about The Arsenals policy re-players.

The humbling of Juventus at Highbury underlined one enduring theme of Arsene Wenger's reign: Arsenal do not buy superstars, they make them.

Sol Campbell and Gilberto apart, just about everyone signed by Wenger in his 10 seasons at Arsenal has fallen into three categories: internationals, but those whose potential has remained untapped (Henry, Vieira); young players who have made an impact in European football but who are promising rather than established (Toure, Eboue, Flamini, Reyes); finally, very young players still in their teens but with heaps of potential (Fabregas, Senderos, Diaby, Walcott).

Credit, then, in bucketloads to Wenger for refusing to panic over the summer and trying to recruit a superstar replacement for Patrick Vieira.

Us Gooners realise above all else is that Arsen Knows

Maybe it's also a case of Arsenal being a great place to learn the trade, as well as picking good students.

It's one of life's wonderful accidents: to find yourself being an arsenal fan.

As much as I hate to admit it, I actually think that Arsenal have as best a chance of winning this competition as any English club has I can remember.

They are in devestating form at the moment. They could well be thanking Liverpool next season.

How the hell am I supposed to keep my mind on revision when this is less than 36 hours away?

Maybe I'll go to the library and read some arsenal and juve stuff. Broadening the base of my historical knowledge...or something like that.

Why are we talking about Barca' on an Arsenal V Juve' thread??...(even though I like Barcelona a lot).

Anyhow predictions (where's Bonfirelight when you need 'em???) time!

hard one to call but with present form 2 - 0 to the Arsenal (again)....fingers crossed!!

Come On You Reds!!!!

I've never known Arsenal fans to be so passionate

Must be the air

Normal service will sh-urely be resumed soon

 arsenal fans.. not a peep all year, but now they're looking on form again.. :p
:p It's the clocks going forward that does it to us ;) :D

*sigh* i missed the game only to hear from x amount of people that it was the best game of football they'd seen in, well, time..
wish there was somewhere to download it from.

i don't even wanna see the highlights..

oh well, will catch the return leg if tis televised and terrestrial!

the final

Arsenal will get to the final and meet benfica. They are a hard outfit to break down. Remember where you heard it first.

For the sake of a neutral here, I'd much rather see Arsenal take on Barca

So now you know it's villareal waiting for you what do you think?

For all the comparisons people have made with arsenal this year and liverpool last year, i think villareal are looking to have just as much of a fairytale.
Struggling somewhat in the league, not overly impressive out of their group and them upsetting a few applecarts as they go along, they have much more class than some might think.
I think Arsenal - should they get past Juve, will have to take them very seriously indeed and it should be a good game as i think they'd let each other play and it'd be pretty open.

As for Milan, it was something of a formality last night to beat a decent Lyon side, but until they scored the second goal they were looking very ordinary.
I'd fancy Barca to roll them over should they get past Benfica tonight, which as the poster above said won't be as easy as it looks on paper.

provided we get past Juve - and I really see no reason why we can't - we have a fantastic chance of our first CL final. Real are better than villareal, for all their poor form this year. juve are better than them. ajax are better than them.

It's looking good for us tonight.

With four of their first choice out they'll have real trouble getting anything. OK, Nedved might be back in but Zlatan and Trezeguet will reform the hopeless partnership we saw at Highbury. Coupled with Zlatan's current moodiness, it looks like their frontline lacks potency.

Even with Vieira and Emerson their midfield looked indolent and clumsy at Highbury. With Camoranesi and Pat out this time around it's difficult to see them gaining any advantage there.

Does anyone know anything about this Chiellini dude? I'm guessing that he'll be a decent Serie A defender. Efficient and controlled in a slower, more tactical game, but faced with pacey movement I'm forecasting that he'll go to pieces.

And that's why I predict that Hleb will have one of his best games for Arsenal and probably get on the scoresheet at least once. Beyond that I can see Henry getting at least one on the counter, and then someone else (Reyes, Van Persie, Walcott!) will nick a third in the final minutes. So I reckon either 0-3, or 1-3.

I've predicted 2 - 0 to Arsenal mainly because the makeshift defence have developed a pride about them and they'd be well pissed off if they do not surpass the Euro' Champ' record of clean sheets (8 clean sheets held by AFC and AC Milan, I think)....although any win is a win.

well done the gooners ;)
Not much of a match to watch but a fine job done.

Rootin and a tootin for yaz in the semi's

What a dull game,but I don't suppose that matters. I would say well done,but I wouldn't mean it :p

*was going to rant about lack of english players, but won't*

Don't underestimated Villarreal - they have arguably the best midfielder in Europe in Riquelme and a fairly solid at the back. They've not had a great season, but to suggest it will be easy to play them at home is a mistake.

On their day, they can equal Real, and are much better than Ajax.

Glad we showed decent form to beat Benfica last night - pretty comfortable. Not too chuffed at the prospect of playing AC, but I think we can beat them at home and get a draw away.

Certainly not my favorite team by any means but any team that holds that many cleans sheets in the champions league deserves success. Pretty unbelievable to play 2 games against Real and 2 games against Juve and not concede. Very well done. Not an easy semi-final but Arsenal should win really...
