Arrested Development

Tobias and Gob fight for my favourite character.

I think Will Arnett, who plays Gob, has an amazing gravelly voice for comedy. His delivery is perfect, c.f.:

"Back from whence you came!"
"You don't have time for my illusions."
or simply
"Micheal..."
I love Will Arnett. His voice and face were built for comedy.

Did you see him in 'Lets Go To Prison?' Naff film but there are a few laughs to be had. Its Gob, marginally smarter, in jail. He also raps.

Any film which has Technotronic's Move This (shake youre body) as a theme is already third of the way to success.

Fucking yesssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:)

Expresses my own sentiments.

Yeah - had some very dodgy reviews, but I enjoyed it

"And second-of-ly, I know you're the big marriage expert. Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot. Your wife is dead!"

:D :D :D Just popped in my head and made me LOL seemingly, to others, for no reason whatsoever.

I fucking love Arrested Development. I've got my sister into it now and she regularly runs into my room re-enacting Buster's "Hey brother... I like JUICE!" and the "domo arigato Mr. Roboto" scene. Awesome.

Is it really good? I was recommended it by a tool of an American bloke (khaki shorts, white socks, white tennis shoes) which immediately put me off.
If it's good I might get a bootleg box set tomorrow.

If it's shit I will go fucking mental tho

Mate, I have so much I can recommend you.

Eastbound & Down

That is about a full 24 hour day's worth right there alone.

Seriously, if you don't watch this then I am going to kill you. I'll kill every China man in China land until I find you too.

Then I might buy it tomorrow. Madmen well wasn't doing it for me, just made me want to smoke and drink whiskey at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.

Yeah, Madmen struck me as being just a load of highly stylised wank, tbh. I liked the misogyny, but all the stuff about the 50s or whatever just left me cold. Do the writers not realise that it's not the 50s now?!

Nice one mate, this could seriously replace my internet porn addiction

I actually reckon maybe watch Eastbound & Down first out of all of them because it is the most IMMEDIATELY funny and, by "funny", I mean I am considering getting a quote from episode 1 tattooed on my body for the rest of my life.

No, hook a brother up. I need some Hyams belly laughs, and X Hamster.

Yeah, I'll ask about again - I knew of a couple of other bods over there a few years back. I definitely am fucking ridiculously funny now, so, yeah, you actually are missing out on something truly glorious. Not the one from the other night when I fell over though, that was bad all round, really.

I want to be laughing so hard I'm punching myself in the face coz I can't actually believe it's that funny. You know what I mean?
That's how i usually judge good comedy

The other night a woman pulled her own eyes out, then stumbled up to the front of the stage, handed them to me, told me to keep them forever and shot herself in the head right there in front of me. I riffed on it for a couple of minutes, then went back to the normal routine; it was a good show.

I was thinking it's quite funny how Kramer's stand up where he is in Jerry's flat and opens with the line 'politics eh, what's that about?' is actually a lot funnier than his real stand up where he screams about sticking pitchforks in black people

I completely disagree, to be quite frank. I think he raised an interesting point about the blacks that was worthy of further discussion.

And let's not forget some great Oz comedies along the same lines:

Very Small Business (6 episodes of genius)
The Librarians
Stupid Stupid Man

And a worthy mention to ABC's "The Middle" which is more of a mainstream sitcom, but is brilliantly written and casted.
