jungle? no, that's closed now. at least it's not on earlham street anymore. it used to be in one small unit, then moved a few doors down to a much bigger one with a basement. mayb e they couldn't pay the rent on the big place anymore![]()
i wouldn't bother with that one: the chapel market one, bad experiencesThere's one in Islington, somewhere round the Angel. I think it's Liverpool road. I can look it up and get all specific if you're likely to want to go that far.
especially children asking for headlamps and compasses.
You've just reminded me, there's one on that street off Shaftesbury Avenue. It's the street with Magma and Dover Books on.

Yeah, Earlham street, and it's not there any more apparently ^^^^![]()

Is that Earlham Street?![]()
When did it close?

Ha, there used to be one at the Angel that had a tank in the bank yard. Also a certain European country seemed to be somewhat over-represented in their militaria collection.
Was that 'Hard Gear'? That place used to give me the heebies. It seemed as though if you had hair over a couple of millimetres long you were treated like a potential criminal to be watched very closely.
Yes they held ahem robust views on a range of social issues. It was down the little lane that was then between the old Angel tube and the Blue Coat Boy pub. Only the scrap dealer remains there now, not sure if Hard Gear had anything to do with them or not.Silvermans FTW.
Best one in London. Free catalogue from the website for those of us who are less mobile than others.
What are you after Jefe? I may be able to help.
Walwoth Road - anyone entering there has to be very brave. It's almost a challenge not to get thrown out. No idea how the old boy has managed to make a living for so many years. He's like a character from Viz.
With a name like "Silverman", I'd say that's a fairly safe bet.Re: Silvermans - they're excellent, but be advised that they're closed on Saturdays (Jewish owner, I think).
(and yes, I have washed them, thanks all the same
).
