Armstrong & Miller

Yeah, this. The first series was great.

The best sketch so in recent years was The Peter Serafinowicz Show... but no-one else other than me and the mrs seemed to like it

That was just painful - this guy who's obv been given a huge budget and his own vehicle and it was just utterly unfunny - beginning to end. I watched two episodes just be sure and i was really embarrassed for him.

Are you serious? It was fantastic!

Several notches above anything else that's been done in recent years.

TBF that thing called 'Look Again' wasn't that great either - funny in patches, but not a whole season's worth of stuff.

I saw the bloke who played the graduate chap and the junior dr in Green Wing on his bike on the way out of Avalon telly last week too.

Sketch comedy seems to be a very hard medium to perfect. In terms of raw sketches with no binding link, I'd have to say Python and Not The Nine O'Clock News are miles ahead. Then there's others which I guess you could just about say are sketch shows, like the League Of Gentlemen and The Armistice. But the modern trend of post-Fast Show catchphrase repetition is pretty dire.

I did think the WW2 pilots sketch was funny the first time I saw it, but repeatedly with the same joke? Why don't they just write a sitcom instead so there's some narrative?

Thought it was hugely dissappointing as well, fucking shame cause I wanted to like it

Oh, and how could I forget the absolute genius that was "Who would like to win £100?" - a parody of 'Who Wants to be a Millionnaire' set in the 40s.

I laughed, and laughed, and laughed.

'That Mitchell and Webb Look' is the opposite to Armstrong and Miller - it started off rubbish and has got progressively better. I reckon that's the best sketch show at the moment.

wrong there - it's sorry i've got no head on cbbc.

actually kids comedy is coming out ahead of adults fairly consistantly in my estimation atm - chuckle brothers, horrible histories, basil brush and gigglebiz all make me laugh more than, for example, armstrong & miller.

whether this is because a) kids comedy is very good currently, b) adult comedy is awful, or c) i've aquired the brain of a pre-teen, i'm not quite sure...

I quite like hedz on ccbc, especially the gordon brown ones

I think Armstrong & Miller are getting better..

I just watched tonights with my 10 year old who laughed a lot ....

Just watched the most recent episode of the new series, really enjoyed it. The blowing up the arse sketch nearly made me wet myself. Liked the farmers market one too.

Never seen Chuckle Brothers so wouldn't know.

The RAF pilots are indeed a wonderful creation. I think, as others have said, it's a bit too middle of the road but then that's weekend BBC1 for you.

That was actually pretty funny... I like the Dracula sketch :)

Those sketch shows usually make me cringe but that was more than bearable.

They're a bit hit and miss but the RAF guys and the Farmers Market song last night were ace.

It made me even more excited that I'm going to see Aha next month. Morten is still fit :o

oh Morten, Morten Morten Morten - one of my first kisses was with a boy who looked like Morten - that's really why I kissed him (actually my proper first kiss was with a skinhead called Cabbage - but that's another story). I also spent all my pocket money on black wristbands 'cos of Morten....

...eta - I found it funny too - much better than before. The farmers' market song was spookily spot on...

RAF Pilots are always excellent value, you hear me blood? but the highlight for me was the Farmers Market song. Brilliantly done.
