The funniest thing for me was the use of old geordie actors to represent Ant and Dec. But that soon wore off and I thought it was rather poor. The Dermot Moghnahan (sp?) hanging himself was desperately unfunny. And all that Bacon stuff was fucking stupid too.
I think the concept of the show was pretty good, but the actual jokes were very lame.
I really liked Iannucci, and the first trailers for it looked great - but it hasn't delivered IMO, just not funny enough. The same joke being hammered over and over again really.
The Ianucci sketch shows and the one-off "2004 Silly version" were more consistent for sure but it's still worth watching just for the 2/3 fucking hilarious bits per episode.
Funnily enough, after really not liking it a while back, I enjoyed what I saw last night - but it is still a nice idea for an extended sketch in each episode of a series, rather than a series in itself.
