It wasn't really a joke about rape though was it. It was more a parody of the desperate state of t.v shows and the depths they are willing to plummit in order to get viewers. Dont forget this is set in the future. It was more them saying, the way t.v is going, they might aswell be producing shows like rape an ape, and of course, celebrity rape an ape.
