Argentina v Peru

yeah, i saw that somewhere, thought it was a really nasty remark, i would love to see maradona become a succesful coach, it would really stick in so many peoples craw

Yes... I imagine having a drug-taking, tax-avoiding cheat becoming a success would probably piss a few people off.

i want think a tournament without Argentina would lack something but if they don't qualify it means Zab and Tevez will be fighting fit for the Champions League campaign:D

that's a good point, if a so-called 'superpower' doesn't qualify it means they weren't good enough over the campaign.

that's why i was a bit concerned about rooney apparently saying he was looking forward to portugal and cristiano ronaldo not getting through. i can easily see them scraping it and meeting us in the knockout stage again.

anyway... where's pablo aimar playing these days?

if i could figure out how the 'multi quote' function worked i'd say 'all of the above'.

but i can't so i'll say mostly the hand ball.

there are plenty of other players who have taken drugs but none of them even get a mention, rossi never gets a mention as a world cup winner despite having been banned for fixing results, which to me is far worse than taking drugs, (as bad as drug taking is) who would even care about him not paying taxes in italy or argentina? it is solely to do with that hand-ball, as we all know, no players cheat these days

at this point i feel it's right to reveal that my real name is peter shilton.

:D

Is it only willie johnstone in 78 whose been booted out of a WC for drugs in addition to Maradona?

i have no idea, i don't even remember willie johnson being kicked out, what year was that?

1978 i think you'll find... :D

eta: i didn't actually read the post, i just remembered that it was part of the peru v scotland fantasy football league sketch.
