Yes. I'm cold.
Although tbf, it's on a thermostat which isn't up very high, so it only comes on when it's cold enough in here.
Mine is on a thermostat too. I tried to turn it off the other day but I couldn't work out how to do it. I spose I could just turn the temp right up or something.
Can't see the point in turning it off really though, doesn't matter what season it is if it's still going colder than the temp I've set the thermostat to- that's the point of a thermostat isn't it?
a little chill gives a better sleep.
I tried to explain this to someone the other day and they thought I was stupid. I sleep a lot better when I get into a colder bed.

Our boiler appears to be broken. It's not igniting when you turn it on.
I've had to put the immersion heater back on to give us hot water, I feel a bit embarrassed about that as it appeared to have been on for the last god knows how many years until bees explained what that particular switch was for and turned it off!![]()

Has your pilot light gone out?

Really Long Schlong.
You need to turn the thermostat down to a low temp, if it's anything like mine. If I set it at 20° it will keep the heating on until the temp reaches 20°. Set it to 30° and it will keep on heating things up until it reaches that, and so on. So to turn it off without actually turning the whole thing off, set the thermostat temp to something silly like 10° and it won't come on, because your house will likely be 10° all summer long and it won't need to heat it up to reach that.
IYSWIM.
Well yes. See the 2nd sentence in my post.
And then read the rest of it.
Are you still turning the central heating on??

The point is to be warmer without putting extra clothes on, surely?

Cos even with the extra layers Im cold. Especially when Im soaking wet (hazard of an outdoor hobby). So cold = heating on, regardless of the date. No, what's the point? Even in winter I'll just throw a few extra layers of clothes on.
I don't like the feeling of lots of clothes, I'd rather wear shorts and a tee shirt round the house and have the heating on.![]()

Yeh but it's a waste of money and if you're inclined that way, bad for the environment. There are instances where it's necessary but putting on the heating when it's clear that a jumper will do the job is stupid imo.
I'm not aware of instances like that.
