I accidentally left the window in the lounge partially open last night and it wasn't even cold when I woke up.

Do the radiators not turn off individually?

We cant turn the heating off as a whole as it is pumped in to the building with the hot water.

Yes you can, but when you close the valves the radiators leak rusty water down the side and onto the floor.:mad::D

Have to get the plumber to have a look at it when he comes.

less than an hour in the morning, and about 2 hours in the evening, then it's under the sleeping bag til bedtime! My daughters bedroom is the warmest room in the house, so she doesn't get cold in the evening

Its always good to have your plumbing looked at from time to time. :p

I'm of the generation that scraped the ice off the inside of the bedroom in the morning.
Wimps.

Yes the heating is on :(

So am I! I only got central heating for the first time 5 years ago when I moved into this house - and like you, that's why the heating is on :D

Yes ours is still on, just in the evening (cos the timer's knackered and we can't be arsed getting the landlady to sort it out, so it's still bloody cold in the morning).

British Gas just told us they only want £5 a month from us.
Tempting though it is to accept their mistake, I don't want a massive bill somewhere down the line when they realise.

I don't have central heating in my flat. It's heated by a penny an hour heater that's still on in the kitchen and by a 2.5KW oil heater in the lounge. Heater in lounge dithers between on/off. I need warmth to dry my clothes too. I'm still using a hot water bottle for bed but not hugging it so tightly.

Just put the heating on - I am fucking freezing. The rest of my family appear their own internal central heating cos they are all saying its fine:rolleyes:.

However, I'M cold, so the heating is ON.

Don't have central heating & frankly, as I'd rather not pay even more bills just now, a cosy sweater, long johns & a double quilt do the job just as well. :)

Oh my god, I haven't had the heating on since march. Seriously, put a jumper on or get a blanket.

The Old Dear, being old cannae stand even the slightest chill and insists on cranking the heat up whenever my back is turned:mad: then moans about the bills:mad:

occassionally as otherwise I can't dry clothes (cos it's fucking raining so often  ) but not often now

OMG, here I was feeling all guilty for being the cause of global warming, what with turning the heat on in the middle of July. I'm so happy to see this thread.

WTF is up with the weather post 2006? We have one heatwave ridiculously early in the year and then that's it. :(

So its July - but I just turned the heating on.. it was bloody freezing! Now im in shorts and a shirt.. (puts on tape of crickets)

Now see this i don't get.....wouldn't it be more economic just to put some warmer clothes on ?

My heating won't be going back on for as long as we can stand it....i'm very worried about price hikes and dressing warmer is much cheaper !

What the hell? Is there really so many people with the heating on? My house leaks heat like a Concorde but I'm here in my pants.

Yes. I'm cold.

Although tbf, it's on a thermostat which isn't up very high, so it only comes on when it's cold enough in here.

Ridiculous isn't it? (apart from aqua who needs to dry her clothes). I hate central heating though, it gives me a headache and sore throat.

I have not had the heating on for nearly 3 months now. The place I moved into is really well Insulated and keeps warm all by itself. Lucky now that gas prices are rocketing :(
