Are you an accessories peasant?

More money than sense
I thought the only one remotely near me was in croydon and its a bit of a trek to go to croydon just for shopping. However someone told me that there's one in clapham junction, is that true?

If I could afford it I would spend any amount of money on accessories. I love 'em.

This ^^^

I have a stupid amount of bags and absolutely love them. I love all bags, even nice suitcases give me the horn. :o Lots of them are cheap Primark ones, I've got a few from Next and River Island, a couple of Ted Bakers and 2 DKNY ones. My most expensive was £165 (reduced from £225) but that was a wedding anniversary present and we had some money in the bank.

People can spend their money as they see fit, imo.

God knows, I've said that on here enough times :o

I personally think Chloe Paddingtons, or whatever they're called are hideous. I hate big handbags with bling chains and all that shit.

But give me five hundred quid and a Lulu Guinness shop and I'd be away.

I'm hankering after a Coccinelle handbag at the moment, reduced to £180 in HoF from £250. But I also have a £280 credit card bill for textbooks, so needs must..

I also like a £15 bag I saw in Claires, so...

I'd love a Paddington. Someone had a really good fake at a wedding I went to on saturday and she's given me the web address.  :hmm:

Yeah, I don't do cheap shoes either (although I did recently get a pair for £20 in TK Maxx but I suspect they may not be leather).

Geri do you work for Tk Maxx's PR?:D

I wear the same silver jewellery all the time. I only buy cheap earrings because I always ALWAYS lose them.

I'm really not a shoe person. Or a bag person.

I had a Lush Paddington once - they look lovely, but all the faffing around with the padlock did my head in. It was also really, really heavy so it made my arm ache every time I used it (not quite long enough to use as a shoulder bag either).

A handbag is just there to put stuff in.... I get really annoyed when I have to buy a new one!

£25 is about the max. Got a red clarke's bag for £15 that seems to be bearing up even though I always end up over stuffing them and then they fall apart....

Every bag I've seen people with recently that looks practical, big enough to carry loads of stuff and with sturdy handles has turned out to have come from Primark and to cost under £10.

Totally agree with the original article. All the expensive ones are hideous.

The only expensive bags I like the look of are Mulberry - they look very well made and solid, and not too garish. However, they aren't lined inside which I think is a bit crap, really.

I dont do handbags really, I have a tiny over the shoulder long stringed jobby for when I go out, it has just enough space to fit smokes, keys, cash and phone in.
I am a bargain hunter when it comes to ..well everything.

I definitely am. Don't really understand the desire to own lots of handbags, belts, or even shoes. Today we were at Accessorize looking for hats for my daughter, and they were all at least £15 just for bobble hats! I'm going to learn to knit. Well, I was planning to anyway - got the books and everything.

My leaving present from my last job was an Orla Kiehly handbag which was very expensive, so for ages I was scared to use it but I do love it, although I can't use it in the rain as it doesn't have a zip just a magnetic catch so can open up.

I have a Radley handbag for interviews which was about £100, but well worth it.

My two current favourites are one from Ted Baker and one from fossil and both were about £40.

Paperchase are doing really nice bags at the moments, round about the £12-15 price range, and I even got a fab overnight bag for £20 from them.

And then I wonder why I have storage problems...

I love my Orla Keily bags, although the colour does tend to change over time. I have one that started this amazing turquoise, and has darkened to a kind of dark green-teal colour. It's still nice though, but I would be wary of buying anything bright from her range again.

That said, they are well designed and practical with lots of pockets inside, so well worth the money for something you plan to use a lot.

Can't remember how much I paid for them, but they were half price in the Liberty sale, so I would guess around £200 ish each.

I used to be a lot more into bags than I am now, but realised I never used most of them, and they dated really quickly.

All my small going out ones are vintage, as I find they have a bit of longevity about them, and tend to go with more outfits.

Also, and this is the best bit, they always seem to have removeable straps so you can turn them into a clutch bag of you want. :)

i recently decided to stop buying imitation leather handbags, cos they age so badly, can't be mended and need throwing away. so my work handbag cost about £50 from tkmaxx. i'm not a huge fan of handbags though. they're messy to store and transfrng stuff from one to the other is irritating.

i've never spend over £80 on a pair of shoes (£180 for long boots, once) - but i don't buy really cheap ones either.

i wear the same jewellery all the time and bar one battered silver ring (now worn on necklace) that i bought when i was 18, it was all given to me, and not valuable.
