Yep. I read my older brother's copy of The Fog when I was in primary school. Not something I'd recommend doing. Have enjoyed other books by him as an adult though.

i have just gone down a James Herbert rabbit hole trying to find examples of his sex scenes cos they’re so ridiculous

But when you find paperbacks in charity shops they often fall open to those pages…

I still remember the flashback from the couple having an affair * in ‘The Rats’ where a she tied his tie round his testiculls and yanked him round the office. That concerned me quite a bit when I was 12.

* Don’t like to call them characters as they were only in for three pages before getting eaten by rats. Not really a spoiler as 98% of the people in the book get eaten by rats.

OMG! You just gave me a flashback to my school days. I think I was traumatised for months reading that particular part. Read it again yrs later and got over it tho

I'm clearly confused.

I definitely feel like I could be a dog. But then I think I'd make a great ragdoll cat as they are sociable and chase things and follow people around.
