Are Subway sandwiches as gross as they look?

Are there any branches of Subway in actual subways?

Munich! :)

I'm pretty certain I remember seeing at least one in the warren of subways connecting the Hauptbahnhof with the various U-Bahn and S-Bahn lines/platforms around and under it. Along with several other big name fast food outlets and a goodly number of local and national cafes/shops/chains of all sorts - incl proper bakers and a German imitation of Starbucks called "Fellows" - which by the look of its huge menu of sweet/sticky and gloopy coffee options made Starbucks operation look positively restrained and health conscious. Still, its wifi was excellent and upon answering the phone to a hogmanay greeting and when asked where I was, my reply - "I'm in a Fellow" provoked untold mirth and consternation back home! :D

Had a look - it is here:

Although it seems to have moved to one of the new entrance portals - The station and associated subway system were just going into a major rebuilding when I was last there.

This was just down to the guy who owned the franchise, obviously. But I’ll give a shout out to the bloke who owned the one in Union St in Bristol because if I gave the homeless guy who lived outside our office a couple of bob for breakfast he used to let him sit inside and eat it, have a warm and use the loo. Good guys in unexpected places, even Subways.

I hate that too, and as I’m not a regular
I always feel like a bit of a dumbo being baffled by really difficult questions about bread, fillings and sauces and totally impressed by experts who just stride in and ask for foot longs.

I thought this had been debunked
No, it seems to have been confirmed...

As someone who feels feint if I don't eat something every couple of hours, I'd rather forgo food for the whole day, than eat something from Subway. I try to cross the road, or at least hold my breath when passing their shops, the smell they pump out just makes me want to puke.
