Where is my mind?
Surprised to hear he had to come home without any clothes - very, very poor show on the part of the school AND the pool - surely they must have shedloads of clothes they could have lent him?
I work in a school, and there is no insurance for children's stuff - even the staff's possessions aren't covered - almost doubles the premium, and there's nothing to stop kids 'losing' their stuff (even imaginary stuff!), though this obviously isn't the case here.
I'm surprised the children were allowed to leave until his belongings were found - presumably the children were supervised? There can only be a few places it could have been stashed.
A strongly worded letter to the Chair of Governors might be an idea - as much for the bullying aspect as the theft. Certainly my school would pay up, as much because we'd be so sorry that the poor little lad had had such a horrible experience.
(Except to say it would have been different in my school - we'd have gone down or found clothes and the kids would be sitting their now if someone had'nt fessed up.)
