Are olives 'healthy' ?

I'd be surprised if they were telling you to use lard in preference for olive oil, though. :D

According to my diet sheet the only 'fat' your allowed on a daily basis is rape seed oil and that is to be used sparingly. All other fats and oils should be restricted. Lard is off the end of the scale. :D
 
If the salty brine is worrying you, Tabasco make some nice pickled olives (unfortunately they're not pitted, so it's a pain to eat them)
 
It amazes me how often lovely hummous (or who-moose as I now call it owing to a bizzare Delia episode) comes under scrutiny on this site...
 
Hummous is lush, but I can understand why people don't like it.

I might have a hummous and pickled gerkin baguette tomorrow.:cool:
 
I bought some hummous too! One lot of jalapeno and one lot of sundried tomato and basil, so I know what I'm having for lunch this week!

Poor workmates :D
 
I never think of having hummous on a sandwhich or roll. I usually dip with breadsticks.

What sort of stuff do people have with it on sandwiches/rolls then?
