Are Gazza's days numbered?

yep, every time I see Gazza, i think "there's a man who subscribes to a philosophical viewpoint that essentially rejects meaning and objective morality".

Why else would he have been hanging around with Chris Evans, eh?

He is like a modern Nietszche.

I feel sorrier for all the footballers who didn't get the breaks, luck or talent that Gazza had, and still keep going, and aren't nearly as sorry for themselves.

It must have been an odd contrast for Gazza to go from being ordinary bloke to being surrounded by people who always say yes, yes to more booze, yes to more food, yes to more whatever. I cannot put my hand on my heart and say that if I'd made that transition at such an early age as Gazza did I wouldn't have fallen on my arse with something.

Its very sad to see this, but the guy was a fool to himself. He was given far more chances than most footballers and overrated imho. If he hadnt cried in that world cup semi his career might have been totally different. He was used by his friends and hangers on, who are now nowhere to be seen when he needs help, but he should have realised what they were long before he got into trouble, but he wanted to be jack the lad on the piss with his mates, the guys a clown at the end of the day. There are probably better footballers out there who didnt get the recognition because they just got on with the job and didnt piss around.

Me too, it's photo made to look worse than rerality. They've used a long streched out pic and put it up against a fat squat pic - simply so they can use them.
No way! He's actually had a late growth spurt and now stands 7'8" tall.

It is a shame to see him looking so gaunt though: I guess he brought pleasure to a lot of people (but not me) and it must be tough on his kid.

My missus got me his autograph once and he said 'To rory's missus and rory .. Love Paul Gascoigne xx'. My favourite ever player and totally wish him well.

Good job too. Gazza needs noones pity or comment, or heartfelt identifying with in a really creepy manner. He needs professional care, and lots of it.

^^^^^^

This. The guy needs lots of time in rehab and lots of time away from those parasitic hangers-on who keep him in his present state.

I don't think he looks too bad. Yes, he is looking thin but he doesn't look particularly unhealthy in that pic.

<I seem to have something in my eye, honest, it's just a bit of grit or something>

Yeah at least Gazza had a career. I loved this bit from Paul Lake's wiki page

Throughout his years of injury, Lake was a figure of footballing hope for many City fans. Whenever people saw a lack of skill in defence or midfield, fans could imagine it would be better when Lake was there.

I remember those days well.:o

i know he wrote (co-wrote whatever) a rubbish book and plays/played footie ball and thats about it. :p
