Are DVD's becoming obsolete?

Im' not sure the quality difference (both picture and technology) between DVD and Blu-Ray is big enough for most peeps to bother in the same way we all went "whooah!" at the upgrade from VHS to DVD ...

The quality difference (on a good HD screen) is probably a bigger upgrade IMO.

The prices of DVD's seem to have gone up to me ?? New titles for deffo and fewer offers of twofers at a tenner as well, or is this just happening in Stoke on Trent ??? Or maybe I'm just poorer all of a sudden :hmm:

Initially new releases were 20 - 22 pounds. Now they tend to be between 13-17 pounds and older releases can often be picked up very cheaply. I buy most of my DVD's through the private sellers on amazon.co.uk and pay between 4 and 7 pounds a disc, but then I rarely buy brand new stuff.
