Arsejnal lost a much of the atmosphere after they moved from Highbury to the Emirates. Highbury, as well as being my favourite ground, was a very tight ground and a good atmosphere could be generated. From talking to Gooners I know many have said that much of the atmosphere was lost during the first couple of seasons at the Emirates. The demographic that now goes to football at Arsenal, as with all the premier$hit clubs has changed. Gone are the 16-21 year olds from Islington who would have stood and sung in the north bank, to be replaced by an older, wealthier supporter most from, say, Hertfordshire.

But at which London Prem league club isn't that true - I'm sure you don't think too many kids off, say, the Broadwater Farm estate are season ticket holders at Tottenham. And that's part of it - not just the prices themselves but to go regularly you need a season ticket.

Any reasonable Goon will acknowledge the crowd has changed and they don't like the new breed of gloyhunters who will be fanatic as long as the team is challenging, before later moving on to the new success story. There are a lot of people out there who don't even know it themselves but what they actually support is success, and the Goons have a lot of them.
