Are 44 and 35-year-old women too old to DJ on Radio One?

Annie Nightingale? She is 67 and still playing breaks on Radio 1 - albeit at some godforsaken hour in the middle of the night as far as I know....

Oh and Marie Anne Hobbs must be mid-forties too.... and for my money has the best show on Radio 1 - in fact the best show on the BBC full stop. She is a wee bit annoying but she plays the freshest tunes and hers is the only radio show that I religiously listen to every week.

Edited to add: Ah, I see Mazza has already been mentioned.

Pete Tong, Westwood and Steve Lamacq are on there and they're not exactly young.

It's a shame - I'd still like to listen radio 1 because it is the only BBC station that does much in the way of electronic/dance music, but they're gradually getting rid of anything and everything half decent. I still like Rob Da Bank (tho much preferred the Blue Room format to his current show) and Mary Anne Hobbs is definitely worthwhile. Huw Stephens is okay too.

mary anne hobbs is like 45 or something isnt she? shes on radio 1.

AND shes got the sexiest voice on the face of the planet. AND plays good music.
