And more to the point - Did Stowpirate checkout/bankrupt himself in the Leica shop at the bottom of it! :D

No tried to stay away from Leica shops! You did the torture stuff in the castle? I am having problems getting my developing right. The 77 year old Voigtlander Brillant TLR I was using had a slow shutter! So damn the developing should have been 4 to 5 minutes and not 6 to 7. Just cannot get the street shots to work properly

Yes - all sorts of interesting stuff - even if it took splitting/expanding things to a whole new level  and the light was failing/snow starting again, so a nice warm museum seemed a good idea till it was time to head back to the station.

You seem to be doing pretty well - I came to that junction in the middle of a heavy/sleety shower and you captured it perfectly. Recognised it immediately before I clicked-on to it being Salzburg!

pogofish How did you find Austria? We spent three nights in the city before heading for the Czech Republic ;)

Difficult to say - I was in Munich over New Year and this was just a day trip by rail. The last time I was in Austria for any time was over 20 years ago and in far less touristy parts. So Salzburg seemed very different indeed, despite the history. Much more brash in the newer parts and of course perfectly preserved in the old bits. I do like the fairly ecclectic visual culture in Austria though - and that seemed to have changed little, modernised slightly I suppose.

I've still got Vienna as high on the list of possibilities for my next trip away.

Is there something in this that might indicate uneven development/preheating? Or is it an artifact of your editing? That reddish/pinky area in the centre.
