Is that why you're unable to comprehend how offensive their attempt to cash in on the death of an activist who had nothing to do with the company is?

fuck me, it was just a comment. you cunt.

A stupid comment though, you'll have to agree. Mainly because think differently rolls quite nicely off my tongue and is grammatically correct. You knob.

If it was a picture of Rosa with RIP on it or something, fair play. But to publish that picture and add your wanky 'mission statement' or 'slogan' to it. That's cynical.

Oh yeah, because I own a few Apple products. What a fucking stupid assertion.

I'm having trouble understanding why else any rational person could not object to a photograph of Rosa Parks being branded with a corporate logo and mission statement.

I assumed it was because you had come sort of mindless, unquestioning loyalty to the company.

A lot of people have trouble believing some of things you come out with; horses for courses.

I'm not hugely comfortable with the association, but I can't see how Apple really hope to cash in. It's not as though Apple can't generate huge amounts of PR when they want - this is just a little farty side thought in their media machine.

As far as I can see Rosa Parks got the dubious privelege of being 'honoured' by Apple on their home page - a fee press releases were trotted out to the usual mactastic publications highlighting this honour (repeated word for word on a couple) and that was about it as far as I could see. It's just a way of filling one of the templated sections of their website with some real world events.

Now if they starred Rosa Parks in an Apple commercial, white earbuds a glowing and the music from her ipod obscuring the complaints about her sitting in the wrong bus seat.... well that would be truly offensive...

It's a storm in a teacup if you ask me. In the greater scheme of things this strikes me as a temporary, fairly anodyne gesture - neither particularly respectful in its haste to align themselves, nor particularly mercenary either. It's probably the work of 'gobshite liberals' as someone may have put it....

;)

you're still very angry cotch.

have you tried an iRiver?

i'm always angry.

iriver is ok but as a complete solution i think apple still have the edge. the nano is easily the best mp3 player i've even owned.

You should try a sixty-gig Video.

I still think this is wankery. It's part of a long tradition of people comparing themselves to Rosa Parks with immensely flimsy justification, the opposite of comparing people to Hitler I suppose, but this is the worst one I've seen recently.

They've added two words to it. Big deal... They've also put up a page on who she was, what she did and why she needed to do it.

TBH, if Microsoft did the same thing I wouldn't be bothered either -- anything which fights racism is good news IMHO... :
