Apartments / Studios In Barcelona

Enforced Holiday
Pie Face and i are spending NYE and the first week of January in Barcelona and would prefer an apartment / studio hire to hotels (a week's quite a push, financially). but even these prices seem high, and that period is also very busy

anybody rented like this before in Barcelona and offer any tips on where to look?

cheers

I've rented three from them and can recommend it highly. They are also very cheap.

The one we stayed at last week was great, as long as you don't want to do much cooking (the kitchen area was very basic). It's ideal for two people and very central. Let me know if you want any more details and I can PM you (I can probably find it on the website and if I can't, I still have the owner's e-mail address.

i second Geri's recommendation. we used them when we went and whilst the apartment was basic it provided a room over our 8 heads for not much money. the only thing i would say is check the area out that some of the apartments are in if possible. the one we stayed in was only about 5 mins from las ramblas towards the harbour end but the area really wasnt very nice.

geri - if you could dig out the name or the email or whatever, that would be great, we're starting to panic a bit as the city fills up

Mr Dubversion, your box is full!

Here's what I was going to say to you by PM (it's not that private so I thought I'd post it here instead)

Re the apartment - a couple of tips:

There is no kettle, so you might want to take one (we made do with boiling water in a saucepan). Also no cooker/grill although there is a microwave and two gas rings and a sandwich toaster (no ordinary toaster though). Also there appeared to be no heating, I think she probably has some heaters that she puts in when it gets cold as we found some instructions for them but no actual heaters. We didn't need them as it was still warm enough not to. It's a nice apartment though, small but comfy. The bathroom is lovely! :)

excellent, thanks Geri.. i'll mention the heating when i get back to her.. my memory of the turn of the year in barca is that it was pretty mild anyway.

thanks so much for the tip off :)
