Anyone seen Fish Tank yet?

The story slightly seems to lose it's way at the end though, all the Connor stuff isn't the strongest element of the story yet that's what gets focussed on at the end.

It would have been nice if they'd given some closure on the dancing part of the story, IIRC there wasn't much more after she walked out of the audition.

Yeah, that was much more realistic and interesting than the other stuff.

Enjoyed this. It was bleak but beautiful at times. Why is it called Fish Tank? Is it a sex reference?

Because it's as if the characters live in a fish tank i would imagine, as alluded to earlier on, when I made the point about why shot on tv ratio and not cinematic wide screen

I thought maybe there was some connection between the spearing of the fish with a stick and when she has sex on the sofa with her mum's boyfriend. Connor also makes some comment about the fish in the pond being easy to catch.

But its not an inescapable environment because she escapes rather easily at the end to go to Wales. I wonder what happens to her in Wales.

Clyde seemed to be trying to do his best, looking after that daft wee guy & his bird, and by the end of the film Jackie found some closure and repaired her relationship with her fellas parents. Happy ending I'd say. [spoiler/]

Proper bit of tower block porn as well, those Red Road flats still seemed to have the original single glazed windows in. have they been knocked down now?

Ah, right you are, I'm sure I read those flats were due for demolition - Hopefully there won't be the funds to level them.
