Anyone remember Sol y Sombra?

    It was the place to go in the early 80's, a Columbian joint at the top end of Charlotte Street.
    It burned down one night and it was believed arson was involved. Dave Hucker was the DJ.
    I don't think anyone was hurt or injured but it just stopped it.
    Dave went on to run other club nights elsewhere.
    I just remember the joyous atmosphere
    Anyone else?

    I vaguely remember going there. IIRC they got round the licensing laws by serving food.

    Which was a huge washing-up bowl of pasta salad.

    Yeah, there was that legal thing about serving food, I remember going to Ronnie Scotts in the 70's the four of us would drink ourselves silly with a slowly curling up cheese sandwich in front of us, but it had to stay there for the next round. Nobody ever ate it.
