I'm a bit confused as to whether he means

(a) he'll be standing behind ladies, and preventing them from falling backwards by catching them in his arms - in which case there is the potentially injurious fall forwards that he is not considering;

(b) he'll be standing in front of ladies so that if they fall forwards he will catch them in his arms, and is merely exhorting them not to fall backwards - which seems to me to be a rather lackadaisical attitude to lady-falling safety. It takes more than fine words to prevent accidents. Perhaps a sign, or a railing.

Some little scrote od 18 was attemting to ask me if he could be the bass player in my band. In the end I aggreed to play drums for his. His band is shit but I do love playing the drums. Not sure how much fun it will be hanging out with 18 year old crass wannabees.

Meself, alien nation and isvicthere? are going on Tuesday 14 March - I should think there'll be tickets still left. Not sure which night they're doing 'RR' - I can imagine it's likely to be highly ad hoc if Smithy's on form!

I can't play drums very well exactly, but I can certainly bang 'em, like she could in The Stone Roses tune. I'm more of a natural bassist really...
