that's beautiful. First off, there's all this stuff about him being reckless and inconsiderate - to him, and his muse Kate (Kate Muse? that's beautiful, yeh?).
but he's safety conscious, he's aware, he's thinking of others, he worries for her. That's just lovely.
That he can be such a poet, such a beauty, such a distillation of the wayward spirit of Albion, and still CARE. that fair chokes me up, to be honest.
His sense of chronology is a bit screwy, but he's a poet, right, and poets march to a different.. erm.. clock.

I like the way he is obviously aware of the dangers women of today face and that he is readily and willing to attend to their needs.
If only there was a Pete for all the ladies that might potentially trip over 'backwards', he could sing them a song as he catches them with his 'arms' until the morning.

(b) he'll be standing in front of ladies so that if they fall forwards he will catch them in his arms, and is merely exhorting them not to fall backwards - which seems to me to be a rather lackadaisical attitude to lady-falling safety. It takes more than fine words to prevent accidents. Perhaps a sign, or a railing.
