i think that you're all being a bit holier-than-cheesy, in that you've been mercilessly mocking her for quite some time. the only surprising thing is that yz haven't driven her away before now.

In the interests of good will and a peaceful life, here are some DOs and DON'Ts for you (and others*) for future threads:

DON'Ts

Don't tell people what they must listen to.

Don't assume people posting in a music forum have no prior knowledge of a topic, even if their opinion differs from yours. Maybe they are well versed in the output of an artist, but just don't rate that output.

Don't make assumptions - perhaps people dislike the music in and of itself, and not because of the way the media depict a person, or because of that person's behaviour and/or beliefs.

DOs

Do ask for opinions.

Do, by all means, make links to MP3s available, if appropriate.

Do question.

Do engage in the spirit of the forum.

Many, many people have posted almost identically worded posts many, many times.
