Anyone Had Any Post?

So if I go and scrape the ice off my road's pavement, will I get my post?
I might just do that!

Easier to go to your delivery office with some ID and ask for your post. About 9.30am. Say you wont be in that morning to recieve stuff that needs signing for. They might give it you ...or they might not. (worth a try)

Maybe the posties are refusing to deliver on the grounds they could break their necks

It's probably not a case of posties refusing, so much as staff shortages meaning it makes more sense to deploy available staff to the sorting side (which has the added bonus, as far as Royal mail management are concerned, of meaning they don't have loads of claims from posties with snow-related sprains and breaks being made on their apparently already very expensive insurance.

Gonna do this tomorrow if there's still nothing today.

Anyone central (ie near the high street) got post today?

Turns out I was right

Yes Violent, I said that earlier ;):D

:Millions of Londoners have not had any post for the past three days.
Royal Mail has banned postmen from driving or walking down roads that have not been gritted, unions said.

A spokeswoman for the Communications Workers' Union said that on Monday there had been no deliveries in large parts of London and the whole of Surrey, Essex and Kent. A union spokeswoman said: "There's a safety first approach and we think that is quite right too."

Yesterday Royal Mail sent out staff to deliver in roads that had been gritted and more were sent out today. But there are still thousands of streets deemed too dangerous. Postmen have been redeployed to sorting.
A Royal Mail spokesman said: "We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. We're doing all we can to continue to provide services and where we are still encountering problems, we are working to restore normal service as soon as possible."

For once I'm on the side of Blenheim Gardens sorting office staff. The street is a fucking ice rink. Mind you they could have cleared the ice off the pavement outside the office:rolleyes:

There was nowt when I left the house this morning bt it often doesn't come till after 4pm anyway. I've not had any post since Saturday - which is v unusual.

Two letters waiting for me on the doormat this evening. One junk, one depressing bank statement.

I got one piece of post today, but not my copy of Time Out which normally arrives on a Wednesday. :(

Still none my way, and tomorrow I'm off to my nephew's birthday party without his present :-((( It'll be sitting somewhere in Blenhiem Gardens no doubt.

Still nothing today in SW16...the roads and pavements are clear so maybe it will turn up later.

Post arrived quite early this morning (estate off Tulse Hill) - no gas bill yet.
