Anyone had a £1 foot long sausage roll yet?

The point, for those who struggle to get beyond "But it's my personal CHOICE!!!11!", is that it's incredibly irresponsible to sell a "snack" that is equivalent to almost an entire day's calories. Most people are not aware of how many calories are in their food items or of what they should be aiming to target on average. The overlap between buyers of this snack and those doing 16 mile runs will be pretty non-existent. This is clearly being marketed with the intention of being eaten by a single person in one sitting, and it is not right.

There is a reason we have an obesity crisis, and it is structural.
yes but whats the future? Salt banned, all resteraunts are taco bell, three seashell toilets and being fined credits for verbal violation of the morality code?

no. give me ratburgers

Maybe, but if the foot-long lard stick didn't exist, people could buy multiple smaller lard sticks to reach the same amount of calories.
But would they actually do that?

This think is being sold as a snack in and of itself, and that's downright irresponsible.

Also, it may not be about health choices. For some people with limited budgets something that will fill them up for most of the day and only cost a pound isn't a bad choice.
Not everyone can afford to be choosy.
No, this is patronising bollocks. And even a footlong sausage roll won't fill you up all day anyway -- the satiety index of pastry is incredibly low.

Terribly backward, they should be offering a metric version in this day and age.
Kind of odd that there's a common metric inch (2.5cm) , metric pound (half a kilo), and metric pint (half a litre). But there isn't a metric foot in common usage. 30cm just isn't a memorable thing. You get a metric yard as being just over a metre though.

Of course - I've seen people buy more than one normal sized sausage rolls in greggs many a time. It's not rare. Regardless of the size of things on sale, some people will always overindulge for whatever reason - that's just life.

By your logic everyone would be given ration books to ensure they can't enjoy themselves. And sausage rolls would become a controlled drug. :hmm:

Just say no to lard sticks.

you can get 4 packs in greggs :o that's like 2 of the Morrison's ones I think.
On balance, I should probably never ever eat another one. for at least the next three lifetimes. Or run a marathon every day for the rest of my life
