Anyone got any kittens?

We'd get older ones but gf is allergic to cats so has to get them as kittens in order to build up a tolerance.

Does that really work?

Link?

BTW she's not the gf anymore she's the fiance ;)

Kittens are hard to come by in general tbh cos most cat owners get their cats done. It is known that the cat population has gone down.

Take it you only want moggys and not pedigrees?

Yeah, only moggies. There's still a massive suplus in kittens in summer.. thousands get put down.. poor little fellas :(

Apparently it does work.. if not, well, we'll just get a job lot of ceterzine in (or whatever it's called)

maybe have a look/post an ad here,

and also, as it happens, I was walking past a shop called Animal Magic in Shortlands (Bromley) this morning and they had kittens and puppies 'just in'

be careful...they're fickle, cats... you feed em you love em you give em cuddles and then they decide to bugger off and live with someone else all random-like.

i'd stick with kids if i was you

</bitter cos my cat hasnt been home in a week>

I gave them a call.. they're selling them for £180 per kitten, for normal moggies!!!

Ours are £65 each.

Think I mentioned this ages ago when you were on about it. I've never had a cat allergy, and it took me a year after getting my kittens to get one. I'm not sure you can actually build a tolerance. The good news is that I manage fine on daily cetirizine, no ill effects, and does the job.

I can't wait for you to get cats (even if they are girls). I'll be over at yours every night stroking pussy. No pun intended... no seriously.

Yeah, probably should adopt one, but the whole process seems such a hassle.. interview, then home visit then get the kittens weeks later!

I heard cats of a single colour are more likely to cause allergies than tabbies, is this true?

And short haired less likely than long hairs?

Mr BK is allergic to cats but fine with Miff ( short haired tabby) . But sneezy for 2 weeks and now all is fine, maybe you get used to it

Every time I see summat like that I have to repeat a little mantra..."I must not get more kittens, I must not get more kittens...:D ". I get the old vet bills out for my pair and it stops me straight away mind!

Hope your foray into cat ownership goes well :)

It's a shame you feel that way. It really isn't/shouldn't be a hassle at all, and there are so many homeless cats and kittens, in rescues and animal shelters who could seriously do with your money. I got my kitties from the CPL and it was no hassle - 15 minute home inspection and interview, collected kittens 1 week later. The CPL people even gave us a lift home with them.

We were told it could take over a month by both CPL, Battersea, and RSPCA. Also, only Battersea had kittens and they were 4 months old and would be snapped up in the week.

I've always got them from CPL before.. including Mac, the legend

Pics to follow, they're the cutest little monsters on earth. Very bold, full of character, not remotely shy. My one, Monkey, already follows me from room to room whenever I move.

Beanie, my girlfriend's one, the tortoise-shell, is a bit more of an independent woman. Will allow you to give her a hug if she's in the mood, but otherwise she's off beating the shit out of her toys.

Forgot how much they eat / shit!

I forgot how much their shit stinks.. Monkey just had an 'accident' or two behind the sofa.. felt awful telling her off, but she's got to learn. Other than that, they've been great at going to the toilet in the right place.. I think it was 'cos I changed the litter tray, used the same litter, put it in the right place, and showed them it loads but still.. gross!

:D I changed the litter I use cos the lightweight stuff seems to make their wee smell terrible of ammonia really quickly, but I don't think the little un likes the wood based stuff, cos I got in from me walk to discover a nice big steaming pile of shite in me bedroom

How much clearer do you need, muppet ;)

Got 2, a hooded one that I'm training them with the base, and a normal one!

Suspect one or both of them may have a little bout of coccidiosis (sp?).. the lady we got them from said after a little bit of chicken they'd developed a little bout of diahorrhea. This is still the case, it's slightly mucussy and there might have been a little blood earlier. Do vets open late at all, would rather not wait until Satuday.. though of course I'll take time of work if needs be.

For a minute I thought you'd jacked a picture of my brother's kittens from his hard drive - they look identical!

Very cute :)

Aww they are lovely..my daughter looked after my kitten when i went away a couple of weeks ago and wont give him back! :( though he seems happier there as my cats picked on him.

Any peeing on the dvd player..ripping wallpaper and being sick in your shoe yet?
:D
