Anyone gonna be in Mumbai / Bombay beginning of November?

I was mostly in Gujerat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh so dont know about the South (though I'd very much like to visit) like Vixen everyone I've spoken to in about it receomends Kerala rather than Goa though - its meant to be an Inidian version of the Costa Del Sol nowadays.

Just spoke yesterday with a friend that had been down to Goa and Kerala. She recommended that if you go to Goa, stay somewhere like Palolem in the South where its a bit more chilled than the North. Unfotunately I have to head up to Baga for Xmas/NYE as a few friends are going to be there and it would be rude not to.

I don't like Mumbai or other big cities.
I'm the other end of India in Kerala:- "Gods Own Country" - aka. the land that time forgot.

Only jungle, coconuts and backwaters here... Pop in for a Toddy.
;)

Will c u in Jan if you're still about Kerala?

Mmmm Palm wine/Toddy, it looks like it could send you mad and dance like a crazy fool if not respected. Two glasses for me and my newly aquanited friend! :D

Hi Folks,

In Palolem right now, in a cafe just off the beach. Staying in a very cute wooden hut on the beach, but bars are springingy up at an alarming rate. Just hiding from the heat of the sun right now, its pretty chilled here with mainly late 20's, 30s couples, long termers and pot smoking retired Brits. Last night at Cafe del Mar could have been anywhere on the Costas though. Going to explore Calomb beach later today. Tempted to head down to Kerela to avoid the lound hoxton finned avertising types - Oh how quickly I've become a travel snob!

That sounds great, I'm staying till the yoga teacher leaves at the end of week, so I'll probably stay till Sunday. I'm doing the sivananda classes at blue planet, next to bliss tours on the road to the beach, give me a PM and we'll arrange a place to meet.

Hi, I'm heading over to Palolem just before Xmas, how is it there, still a mess or has everyone cleaned up?

Palolem is still lovely, the nicest places being at either end, the middle becoming a bit louder, and bars being built at an alarming rate. Talking to a bloke last night - his fairly large restaurant was assembled in 15 days, using locally sourced materials, and catering equipment carried over rocks - these guys must be great at logistics. Yoga, sweating and eating are all I can seem to do.
